(im not gonna follow the actual show super closely, I'm going to let it go in it's own direction, so let's see how it'll be)
one | First Encounter
The cold blue hour sky was the only thing that mattered to you as you walked along the street. Your Vans high tops were soft against the sidewalk, you made sure to go out of your way to avoid every crack. It's not that you believed in the old rhyme-step on a crack, break your Mama's back-it's that it gave you something to think about other than how idiotic you look walking without anyone beside you.
You took this moment to reflect about where you were. You were in a sketchy part of town. Not the sketchy part of town that consists of drug deals and related shootouts, but part of town filled with perverts and crackheads.
"God, I gotta get outta this place," you muttered to yourself, feeling shame that you lived in this part of the town.
Moving was just wasn't in the cards right now, you were working as a hairstylist and waxer at a beauty salon. It paid well, however the majority of your earned money was put towards your passions, less towards improving your living situation (which you would then regret within the next day of buying whatever impulsive thing you had bought.)
You reached your duplex, walking to the lower left door and fishing your keys out from your pocket. You had to find the right key-car key, mailbox key, safe key...
You groan in frustration at how long this is taking, but feel a rush of alleviation when you found the key to your apartment. You slipped it into the deadbolt's keyhole, turning it clockwise, doing the same with the actual doorknob. After pulling the key out, pushed the door open and let out a deep breath, bathing in the peaceful sensation you feel once you enter the premises of your safe space.
You walk over to the coffee table-ready to eliminate the silence-you picked up the T.V. remote and flicked through the different default apps on your T.V., you selected Hulu, and went to resume Family Guy where you had left off. Season ten episode eleven.
The theme began to play as you began to look around the room, before taking off your shoes, you began to debate whether or not you should cook yourself something. You just didn't feel like it. You felt like watching this episode, and then heading to the donut store and saying that that was a good enough dinner.
Truth is, everybody has those nights, eating sugar-packed junk food for dinner and enjoying it a little too much. Your sit bones sunk into the cushions of the couch, hugging the muscles of your body perfectly. "Come on, y/n, you can just sleep in tomorrow." You brush your fingers through your hair, letting your hand fall back onto the couch.
Within fourty-five minutes, you were approaching the entrance to the donut shop near the apartment you lived. You had only been there say, once or twice when you were looking for a sweet breakfast when your family was visiting.
You opened the door, getting a strange look from a modest middle-aged woman while you made your way to the counter. There was no doubt why, it was because of your youthful appearance but differing accessories and such.
Your youthful appearance was... a mystery to most, to say the least. You looked around eighteen, maybe nineteen years old, however you were actually twenty-nine.
The reason you looked so young was something you didn't talk about much, once you started talking, people would begin to pry for more answers; answers that you didn't have.
You looked so young because when you were eight years old, you were taken and used as some kind of lab rat. You were experimented on, the result cost you the speed at which you grew up. It didn't prevent your body from growing, it just slowed down the aging process. As a result of these experiments, you are stuck looking around ten years younger than you actually were.
