Despite Thomas Pinckney imploring President Thomas Paine to endorse his brother Charles Cotesworth Pinckney for President, Paine decided not to endorse anyone, normalizing incumbents not endorsing successors, and to focus on retirement. And so, without Paine's endorsement, C. Pinckney lost the nomination, and Jacobin Party Titan, Rufus King, received the nomination instead.

Meanwhile, on the Democratic-Republican side, they nominated Thomas Jefferson once again. They Election itself was pretty contentious, with the Jacobins being pretty popular, but the People wanted a new face for leadership. But when all was said & done, Thomas Jefferson would become the third President after winning the 1804 Election.

Once he entered the White House, President Jefferson started work on repairing relations with France & the other Great Powers of the world. He also started negotiating with Britain to smooth over discrepancies  with the frontier borders beyond the Great Plains. But, once again, American shipping overseas was threatened. This time they were being attacked by Barbary pirates in Algeria. Actually, they were being attacked for years now. President Paine had some warships sent over to Africa, but they were rather small ships, as all of the large ships were off fighting France. But now that the war was over, President Jefferson had more ships sent to Africa, and he bombarded Tripoli, which was enough to ward off the pirates. By 1808, Jefferson was popular enough to win a second term.

During President Jefferson's second term, he focused on more internal affairs, specifically Indian Affairs

During President Jefferson's second term, he focused on more internal affairs, specifically Indian Affairs. Jefferson established a "civilization program" which included securing peaceful U.S.–Indian treaty alliances and encouraging agriculture. Jefferson ended his second term as very popular.

But at the Democratic-Republican convention, things were quite messy. There were two major contenders: James Madison & James Monroe. When all was said and done, Madison won the nomination, but the Party remained fractured, leading to a deflated Madison campaign.

Meanwhile on the Jacobin side, the party remained united behind Rufus King (still), but they decided to finally throw out Charles C. Pinckney as his "running-mate". And finally, after the third try, Rufus King finally won the Presidency.

Granted, this was 1812. And tension was rising with Great Britain. It soon became, as you know, the War of 1812. President King (what a title) decided to go gung-ho with the War, quickly invading Canada, destroying Canadian forts and over-running Canadian cities. But with American forces in Canada, and the Navy in Africa, the British naval invaded New York City!

Will America take over Canada? Will Britain win the War of 1812? Or will it be a stalemate, as in our universe?
