~Tie The strings?~
•Vidhirani POV
With a slight nod to Ashwath, Ranaji and I began to walk out of the room, moving toward the sanctuary of our chambers. The weight of the situation still hung heavy in the air.
As we reached our chambers, Ranaji opened the door, and walked inside. I followed behind him, my weary body heavy with the past events as I stepped into the familiar surroundings of our private quarters.
Ranaji reclined on the couch with a book in his hands. As he read, his gaze repeatedly lifted from the pages to glance towards me, where I stood awkwardly before him.
The silence in the room was punctuated only by the turning of pages and the soft sound of my restless shifting.
Concern etched my features as I observed his condition. His face had taken on a shade of red, and his breathing had become laboured, causing a sense of unease to settle in my heart.
"Ranaji, kya aap theek hai?
"Ranaji, Are you okay?" I managed to ask him, gathering some courage.
I was able to stand fearlessly in front of the man a few days back who held Avanti, but standing here in front of Ranaji was much more difficult.
He responded in a brusque tone, his gaze still fixed on the book in his hands.
"Hum theek hai,"
"I'm fine," he replied, his voice carrying an edge of aloofness.
"Hame kya hoga?"
"What could happen to me?" The usual comforting warmth that typically enveloped his words was absent, replaced by a chilling detachment.
As his cold response hung in the air, a barrage of questions began to flood my mind.
Did I do something to upset him? Could it be that he was angry because of my choice of attire? Perhaps he was annoyed by my presence?
My mind was filled with self-doubt and uncertainty, a whirlwind of questions amplifying my unease and confusion.
Suddenly, a memory crept into my mind, a fragment from the pages of a book I had read before.
A story regarding a woman named Shakunya, who had once used a strategy to draw in her love. Shakunya, in her quest to gain the affection of her beloved, had employed a tactic that now echoed within my thoughts.
In the story, Shakunya found herself in a situation where her lover was angry with her. To mend their relationship, she decided to deploy a daring tactic - she attempted to seduce her lover, despite his feelings of anger and distance.
I contemplated the possibility of employing a similar strategy, my thoughts racing as I considered the risks and potential outcomes.
Attempting to coax a response from Ranaji and melt his anger with a seductive approach held a certain allure, but it also harbored an air of unpredictability.
I wrestled with my thoughts, unsure if this daring move would reignite the flames of his affection or further distance us.
I hesitated, uncertain of whether my plan to draw Ranaji's affection through a daring approach would work or if it would only make him more distant. I knew the risks but was still determined to try.
With a mixture of hope and nervousness, I headed to the bathing room to prepare myself.
I took my time in the bathing room, thoroughly cleaning myself until the lingering scent of sweat and the grime of the travel were washed away.
