~The Dinner ~

• Randheer POV

As I made my way to the dining room, my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, each recollection of the day's events blending in a chaotic blur.

--Flashback--

After coming back from the temple, Charu suggested that she could give Vidhi a tour of the palace. I excused myself from them, leaving them both alone.

I went to my study and asked an attendee to call Ashwath to know the situation of the prisoner. Not so soon, a knock disturbed the silence.

I looked up as the door creaked open, revealing Ashwath. His face was grim as he stepped into the room.

"Hukum" Ashwat clasped his hands together in a respectful bow, his expression serious.

I nodded in acknowledgement, signalling for him to continue.

"Any progress on the prisoner?" I asked with a stern look.

Ashwat's expression was grave as he spoke, his eyes fixed intently on me.

"He won't give us any information," he said, his voice low and serious.

"But he keeps repeating that there's someone out there who has their sights set on your blood. And we will never know when they will strike. We must be on our guard at all times, Hukum."

His words kept ringing in my ears. Anger and frustration threatened to boil over, but I took a deep breath and forced myself to remain calm. I look up at Ashwat, who is standing in front, his expression concerned.

"Lock him up tighter," I said, my voice cold.

"If he's not going to talk more, he might as well rot here."

"Ji Hukum"

"Ashwath, also send Devraj here." He nodded at my words and left.

Soon, Devraj entered the study and approached me; I looked up as he entered.

"Is the task I gave you done yet?" I asked, my tone brisk.

"Ji, Bhaisa," He nodded, setting a scroll he was looking at on my table.

"The recruits will arrive tomorrow," he confirmed.

"Everything is set." He said informing me about the change in the palace staff.

"You heard what the prisoner said?" I questioned.

"Yes, Bhaisa, I did; whoever it is, we won't let them harm us." He said and I nodded, my expression serious.

"I want anyone who seems suspicious thrown in the dungeon immediately," I said firmly.

"Bhaisa", he said, and I looked up at him.

"Maa-sa had sent my dagger to Viraajgarh." my face clearly showed surprise.

I knew maa-saheb was planning for his marriage too, but so soon?

"Bhaisa can we talk to her about this? I don't want to marry until we find the ones out for our blood." I nod at him at agreement.

Suddenly, Vidhi's image popped into my mind. I need to have a talk with her and tell her to be careful.

She has started to enter my heart now, slowly becoming my weakness. I cannot let anyone harm her.

She has to stay safe.

We walked to Maa-sa's chamber. An attendee announced our arrival, as we entered her chamber. She was sitting on her swing chair, reading a scroll. She smiled, looking at us.
