As Draco wandered the halls that night, the last thing he expected was to run into the one person he really couldn't run into. Hermione Granger. Everytime he saw her he just had to insult her, it wasn't intentional, he couldn't stop. It was like an illness, he hated himself for it, it wasn't fair on her. She was beautiful to him, smart, loyal, he could go on. She was the only person he wanted to be with, but he could not be with her. After all she was best friends with the boy he hated the most, and a Gryffindor, you never saw them near a Slytherin. His heart sank a little at this thought. 'You shouldn't be out this time of night Draco, anyone would think your up to something.' Came that heavenly voice he loved so much. 'Shut it, Granger. I could say the same thing about you. Not having a mudblood convention are you?' She looked at him utterly horrified. 'Damn it' sighed Draco under his breath. 'What?' Hermione snapped, 'have more to add do you Draco?' He didn't know what to say, he was wrestling with himself, apologise or just walked off. 'No. Why would i have anything else to add?' He began to walk away, leaving her standing there alone in the dark, but then, he changed his mind. 'Actually, yes i do' Hermione stood there and rolled her eyes as Draco stormed up to her and before he could think about what he was doing, he had swept her up into his arms and was kissing her. He knew she would pull away at any second, and probably hit him again, only she didn't. She stayed locked in his arms, kissing him back. When they pulled apart, neither said a word for a while, all that could be heard was the whistling of owls and they came and went from the castle. 'Hermione, I..I'm so sorry, I never meant what i said, I can't help myself, I know this doesn't excuse me i know, I just needed to say it.' He looked to the floor, ashamed in himself for how cruel he had been. She took his hand and squeezed it tight. 'I know..' She whispered as she held him close, 'I know...'

It always saddened Hermione to see Draco being a bully, she knew of course it was a cry for help. He, like many others, only wanted someone to love him and show that they cared. If only if he would just allow her to show him what he meant to her, then maybe, just maybe he could begin to be truly happy. Everytime she reached out to him he would simply put ...her down, saying things like 'Get lost Granger' or 'I don't need your help mudblood.' She never took offense to these taunts anymore, she knew he didn't mean them. He was just resistant to let people see a softer side to him. She would never give up though, she loved him too much to walk away.

Hermione was sat in the library doing her usual before bed homework. She was the only person in there, or so she thought. She had just finished her potions essay when the lights went out. 'Oh for pete's sake, it's a good job i was done.' She whispered to herself. 'Well good...' Came a soft voice from the shadows. Hermione stood and scanned the darkness. 'Draco?...' She gasped. She felt two arms wrap themselves around her waist from behind, she smiled. 'I thought we agreed you wouldn't meet me in the library?' Draco let out a thinking hum. 'Yeah, but, I couldn't wait to see you any longer.' He turned her around in the darkness to face him. She felt his lips meet hers gently. She loved it when he kissed her, it lit her body up. She kissed him back more intensely. She loved to just lose track of time in his arms.
