Draco hid his feelings for too long. The first time he met Granger he insulted her. He continued to do so all the way through school. He did this to hide the fact he was crazy about her, the older he got the more intense these feeling became, but she never looked at him; to her he was vile and cruel. She would never go for him now; he had done too much bad. ‘Oh Granger.’ He sighed when he heard about her engagement to Weasley, he hated that weasel, he stole his perfect girl. He eventually married Astoria Greengrass but she was so mundane in comparison. He loved her, she was adorable and kind, and now a good mother. However she was not Hermione. She didn’t complete him the way in which he felt only Hermione could. One evening he had the house to himself, he had sent his wife and son away for the weekend, he needed a break from them. A storm blew outside, so forceful it shook everything he could see. Rain battered his windows. He had just settled into an armchair with a bottle when the door went. He sighed and stood up grudgingly. As he opened the door he gasped. A young woman stood in the doorway, hair blowing wildly in the wind and make up running down her face from the rain; he noticed tears flooding from her eyes mixing in with the raindrops. ‘Granger.’ He remained in shock as she swept hair out of her face, no ring on her finger… ‘Malfoy.’ She whispered as she looked him in the eyes. Draco pulled her inside out of the storm, he held her close to stop her shivering. ‘It’s over Draco, I didn’t know where else to go.’ She sobbed harder. Draco held her closer, feeling her wet clothes seep into his. ‘It’s ok; I’m here for you Hermione.’ She looked up at him in awe. ‘You’ve never called me by my first name before.’ She smiled sweetly and melted into his warm body holding her.
