18 years old.

As I sit at the cemetery once again guilt rises harshly within me. I watch my family crowd around another empty casket yet again.

Only this time for Yelena. Natasha has heavy tears pouring from her eyes as she try's to stay strong for her baby sister. Steve has his arms wrapped within Nat's at an empty attempt to comfort her.

This is my fault. My mind races with so many thoughts and empty words. 'i'm sorry, this is all my fault' My plagued mind screams at me as I watch the scene in front of me.

It's been 2 years since Yelena's supposed death and my funeral. Two years that they have spent mourning mine and Yelena's so called deaths.

I look in the distance seeing a figure standing watching, Yelena. She knows better than anyone to keep her distance, she's about the same length I am from the scene in front of us.

Our family splayed out between us mourning us both. I want to go over and see her, wrap her in a hug. But, Hydras watching. They always are.

I watch closely as my father stands at the back staring down at my headstone next to Yelena's. They buried us right next to one another.

I visit my own grave from time to time, I get to see the flowers and letters they drop off to my child self. The letters they make out to Mackenzie, the ones I get to read.

It's almost like I get to talk to them myself. It's the closest I can get, sneak to my grave in the dead of night and steal the letters. They most likely think the wind takes them.

Little do they know I have them collected. I reread them to remind myself i'm more than just Agent 27. More than just the experiment Hydra has created. More human than I allow myself to be.

They are stored in a hidden safe house i've managed to keep secret from Hydra and their minions. A room for me and my daughter. One day i'll be able to show her it. For now, it remains in the shadows along with myself.

And at this exact moment, Yelena. I break my focus from my mind and retrain it towards the scene in front of me. Each one of my family members shedding tears and sadness for the death this family has been plagued with.

Both mine and Yelena's empty graves sat beneath them. Little do they know, we're both right here with them.

I watched from the news and background as they have gone on mission after mission. One ending them in space once again.

My father takes a step forward to speak, his body wrapped in the same black suit as my own funeral years prior. He releases Peppers hand as he moves.

"I thought we'd have years before being back here like this" He announces, light tears streaming down his cheeks. "Nat" He pauses.

"Im so sorry, Maybe one day we can avenge them both" He says. Steve taking a step forward, moving to stand next to my father.

"One day we will." He tells the family. Confident as if he almost believes that. Of only it were that simple. Unlike his wishes, there are only two ways the rest of my life can go.

Hydra Assassin forever or Death. Nothing else. No in-between. No happy ending. No happiness. This is all that is left for me. Being what I am forever or becoming what my family thinks of me.

A silent tear drops from my tired eyes as I watch my father drop back into his seat in defeat. His eyes glued onto my own headstone.

The words on it reading,

'Mackenzie Lynn Stark
Always and forever"

They refused to add a date of death until there was proof. Because of this there is an empty space near the bottom for my birth and death date. A spot that just might never get filled.

I've watched Hydra hide countless bodies, mine would be just as easy to get rid of. No proof for my family. With a kill count in the hundreds i've had to hide more than a few myself.

Doesn't mean I haven't watched them hide the majority. Taken from their places of death and vanished without a trace.

I knock myself out my trance and train my eyes back towards my family splayed out in front of me. Continuous tears flowing down everyone's faces.

Natasha and my father most of all. Each crying over their loved one's grave plastered down in front of them. Both for their loved ones that are here with them watching them.

Always watching over them. I look towards where Yelena was watching from seeing an empty field. Perhaps I should follow her idea and head out myself.

I take a gina glance at my old family, a small smile creeping to my face. I push it away immediately and force myself to leave.

Turning back towards my car parked not far from where I was standing. A black porsche sat at the end of the field.

I walk over to it and click unlock on my key before hopping into the drivers seat. "I love you guys" I say quickly towards the funeral holding my long lost family.

I turn back towards the front and slide the key into the ignition. Setting my foot on the gas I speed away from the scene before my heart tells me to go to them any more.

To reconnect with my long lost family. I push harder onto the gas forcing my weak heart away and back home. Hydra.

After about 45 minutes a small house comes into
view. A normal suburban home. Or so it looks. I park my car around back and walk up towards the front door.

An old lady opens the door as I approach. "What a beautiful day isn't it?" She asks. The skies behind me a dark grey. A storm coming.

"Yes but I always carry an umbrella" I tell her with a smile. She nods, her fake smile dropping. She moves slightly allowing me to walk through.

I brush past her walking down the hall attached to the living room. There's a back room, I slip the door open walking in. Connected through the closet is a stairwell leading down towards the base.

Very well hidden if you ask me. I walk down heading down more hallways, these ones a sharp deep metal compared to the bright white walls in the house above.

Heading towards one of the rooms I allow myself entrance with my powers. Flinging the door open, red energy flying around it.

There's a young man about 30 sat at a desk on the end of the room. "Mission report" He announces keeping his eyes on his computer.

"I'm back safe and sound. Mission complete" I tell him. Before the funeral I had to make a quick stop at an old dive bar along the way.

There was some guy who Hydra let go for reasons unknown. He was threatening to tell our secrets and information on us.

I killed him and cut out his tongue before he could tell anyone anything. Speaking of.... "Here" I announce.

I slide my hand into my left pocket grabbing out a small box. I plop it down on the man's desk. His eyes moving off his computer screen and onto the black box.

"What's this?" He asks sliding the box towards him. "As requested" I pause. "The man's tongue". A small smile crosses my face as he opens it revealing none other than the severed tongue.

"Good job Agent" He says placing the cap on the box and setting it to the side. With that I turn towards the door and back towards the main Hydra base holding my bedroom.
