Chapter 3: attack

       I was playing with the other boys as we ran and tagged each other in the snow. "Haha, get back here!" I replied as I tried to tag them back. "Nuh uh, you're not getting us!" "You got to try harder than that!" They said as they ran faster than me even though we were almost all the same age. They ran off as I slowed down and tried to catch my breath. I was breathing heavily. "I wish I could run fast like them..." My stamina wasn't as good as them. Suddenly, I heard screams where my friends ran and I looked in their direction where they ran. I looked over at a tree and noticed it moving violently. Something is moving behind it... Suddenly the branches shook and one of them ran to me. "Wolf!!!" He screamed as he ran past me but I wanted to see if it was true and not a game.  I stood there and saw a wolf come out. Not a normal wolf but the biggest and most vicious kind. He had one of my friends in his mouth, covered in blood, he stayed motionless. I was terrified and backed away slowly. The wolf growled as he let go of the boy and started walking towards me. I stood still as if I moved and ran, I wouldn't be fast enough to out run of it. Its yellow mean eyes glared at me as it paced slowly. I just kept staring at it as if we were the only ones here. "Wolf!! There's a wolf in the village!!" Someone shouted and that made the wolf startled and ran towards me. I gasped as I put my hands in front of me and I closed my eyes before I last saw the wolf lunged at me. I'm dead! I heard the wolf yelp and I could feel it fall to the ground. I slowly opened my eyes and saw what I was doing. My hands were slightly glowing as I formed a shield in front of me. The wolf roared as it jumped again at me but I held it off with my shield. I was surprised to see the shield was stronger than I thought. The wolf was knocked back a few meters and looked bewildered. It growled and charged towards me. I kept defending myself but I had no idea how I was doing this. I lost most of my fear as the wolf was predictable and I stood my ground. As it charged at me again, I decided to fight it. I moved forward and the shield moved as well. The wolf impacted it as I saw blood flying around from it. I gasped as I managed to fight it, even if it was simple. It flew away but still managed to get up slowly. The wolf panted and limped as it didn't have much fight left. I could hear running footsteps behind me and I looked as the hunters were coming with their weapons. I turned around to face the wolf again and glared at it. It glared back and limped away as its future could be gone if he stayed longer. I put my hands down and the shield disappears.
      Some of the hunters chased after the wolf while the others stayed to ask what happened. "Trixx!!" I turned around to see my friend who ran off. "I managed to call the hunters but what happened to you?" He looked concerned and shocked at me. I don't know if he saw I had powers, or that's what I think they were. Magical powers... "What do you mean? I'm fine," I lied. "Your hands, they were glowing! And, and that shield! Your eyes were also glowing! What was that?!" I looked at my hands and tried to make them glow again like what I did before but it didn't work. My eyes were glowing too...? "Have you ever done this before?" He asked as I looked at him shocked. "I don't know how I did it..." "You have to go tell the chief." I walked away with him behind me as I went my way. I have to talk to my father, what will he say? Maybe he doesn't know, maybe he does. Will I get in trouble? What did I just do? Am I different from the rest? Am I even human...? What if I'm a monster...? Why me out of everyone?! I'm still so young! All of these questions were making me anxious that I couldn't think straight. Then, I suddenly felt very tired. My heartbeat pounded twice than normal and felt like it was on fire. I held my chest, hoping to stop the pain. It felt like a heart attack the elders would tell us that they could have sometimes and it was dangerous. Dangerous that your heart could stop and you would die. I hope I don't have that! I don't want to die! I couldn't stop panting since I was feeling dizzy. My legs felt shaky and I was having a hard time standing up straight and was walking crooked. It felt like I was going to fall down any minute. "Help," I panted as my friend heard me and grabbed my arm. "Are you okay...?" I shook my head as I could feel my strength fading as I fell but he held my arm. "Help!! Somebody help him!!!" I closed my eyes as I could hear running footsteps near me and voices everywhere but it was all blurred out. Am I dying? I don't want to die!! I felt very weak as I couldn't hear or feel anything more.. Please... I want to live... I felt myself fall to the snowy ground and fell unconscious after.

After about 7 months, I finally have this chapter done!! I wish I could make them longer but I want to keep them related to the chapter title and I don't think it's necessary to be long. Maybe I'll make other chapters longer, my limit is still the same (2,000 max I think, it's been awhile) I'll keep writing AND hopefully it won't be months after I post something.
