Title: Meanwhile at The Academy

"Markus! Markus! Help me! You can't let him do this, I made you! Protect me!"

A familiar course of screaming greets me and gently rouses me from my sleep. I yawn and take my time stretching like a cat and reaching across my bed only to pause.

Why is that alarm on? The screams of my father were a familiar cadence for me to wake up to but not one I had set up to be played since the WHA had started occupying the academy. The ploy of being a normal school doesn't work well when the acting headmaster is listening to his father's murder.

I tilt my head to look at my alarm clock only to raise an eyebrow, 2:17 AM? Not what the alarm was set up for anyway. So either someone sneaked into my room earlier when I wasn't in and changed my alarm or-

"Zuri?" I whispered the word while covering my mouth, acting as if I was blocking a yawn. I'm greeted with a cold feeling going across my feet. I briefly racked my head as to why she was in my shadow, briefly considered the cameras the WHA had snuck into my room then discarded the thought. Even if the cameras were back on they already knew we were sharing a bed. I rolled off my bed and started doing my daily work out taking the time to allow my eyes to roam the room as I used my quirk.

Yep, all the cameras are on now

I wasn't sure exactly why the cameras the WHA had snuck into my room had turned off late at night but I had taken the time to finally get some time alone with Zuri, who had been helping me hold the damn academy together. I groan at the very thought of it. Jackson's left hand my ass, Ruth was supposed to be holding it all together, not me, she was supposed to be the one that took over after Jackson ...not that the asshole was ever supposed to die anyway. Not dead he can't be I shake my head pushing those thoughts away as I push myself up to all fours and then backward flip to my feet. I stretched for a moment and made a pose in the mirror, letting the cameras get a good look at the markings covering my body. Even in the pitch dark of my room, the red and black markings left a decent glow in the room.

"You will not falter here," I say to my reflection lightly tracing the marking on my face "Whether they believe it or not whether I believe or not I am the Headmaster of the Grey academy I am th-" A lot of titles traveled through my head. I was the left hand of Jackson, the second of class M, the retired captain of class I, Jackson's Inquisition, son of the most hateful man. "you are Markus Caldium" I finally settled on staring at my reflection "and you will not not fail here."

I started putting on my clothing, assuming that whoever changed my alarm was warning me that I would need to be ready soon for something. I was proven right when a sudden cold spike from my feet stopped me for a moment. I close my eyes, focusing as Zuri writes her message on my feet. I had gotten so used to this method of communication that it took me only a moment to get it. I sighed pulling on my pants and took the moment to reach for my phone which had beeped as if it got a text message. I opened it and read its blank screen then hissed as if I read something unsavory just to make sure they thought communication was technology-based instead of quirk.
