*Y/n's POV*

I couldn't believe that I was Gryffindor. I was extremely happy because I knew that I wasn't going to be in Slytherin but that's the problem. I wasn't a Slytherin. A Malfoy, not Slytherin, that's never happened. I knew I had to find some way that either my parents, more specifically my dad, didn't find out or they didn't yell or hurt me. Not finding out seemed to be the better option.

During the feast I could feel pairs of eyes on me sometimes, but I shrugged them off because honestly, I didn't blame them. Like I said a Malfoy, being in anything other than Slytherin let alone Gryffindor, never even heard of. I'm not saying any of the houses are bad, none of them are and to be honest I'd rather be in any of them except Slytherin, especially Gryffindor. I read about all the houses knowing that my brothers and parents' words would be biased, and they all seemed amazing. I just knew that Slytherin wasn't for me. Every so often Draco and I would glance up at each other saying that we were going to talk tonight no matter what and I was really hoping that he wasn't going to yell at me.

After the feast, Percy, who I had met because he was Ginny's brother and because he was a prefect, was taking us to the tower. I walked around exploring the place and I loved it. The common room felt so cozy and welcoming, and the dorm rooms were nice. As I was changing into my pajamas for the night Hermione, who again Ginny introduced me to came to my room saying that Professor McGonagall wanted to see me. I quickly put on my robe over my pajamas and went down to the common room to see her there.

"Ms. Malfoy, follow me," she gave me a slight smile and that only made me think that if I had gotten in trouble somehow on the first day. I was done for.

I followed her out of the Gryffindor tower and threw the hallways to a statue. The professor had opened it up somehow and stairs appeared. I walked up the stairs following her when I walked into a study with my Uncle Snape, Draco, and Dumbledore.

Oh no

Was all I could think about.

"Ah, Ms. Malfoy. Please take a seat," Dumbledore pointed to the chair next to Draco who had secretly grabbed my hand comfortingly as I sat next to him.

"You're probably wondering why you're both here," he asked and Draco and I both nodded, "Ms. Malfoy, I know about your family's pride in the Slytherin house, and I can only imagine how terrified you were when you were sorted into Gryffindor,"

"I wasn't necessarily terrified about being put in Gryffindor, in fact I was quite happy about it," I started, and Draco looked at me shocked a little, "I'm only terrified about what father will say," I fiddled with the rim of my robe looking down at it before mumbling, "or do," and apparently Draco heard that and looked even more shocked.

"Well, I think we may have a solution to your problem," Dumbledore said, and Draco and I looked at him confused.

"How? I was put in Gryffindor, what could we do?" I asked.

"Minerva, Severus, and I decided that you will be in Gryffindor because that is what the sorting hat put you in. However, we talked it over and decided that we would tell your parents that you were sorted into Slytherin. If they ask to see your stuff, Professor McGonagall will teach you how to change the colors on your stuff and your badge for the Slytherin house. Severus has assured me that he will have your back and make sure your parents think you were put in Slytherin. I would hope your brother won't go telling them what house you are in," Dumbledore explained giving Draco a stern expression.

"I won't sir, I just want Y/n safe. If this how to do it, I'm all for it," Draco replied.

"Thanks, Dray," I whispered to him, "you're sure this work?"
