---Hi, my name is Carlos, and I work at an editorial. My job is to check if the books are well written. My teammate was Xavier, who was rarely around the building. He was somewhat my superior since he had been at the editorial for a long time. We're childhood friends, and I know how much he loves to stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, the company had to keep functioning, so from time to time, I had to deliver some books to his door to ensure he actually did some work. Today was no exception. The boss came to me, asking me to deliver some books to Xavier, as I was the only one who knew where he lived. I packed my things and left the building to go to his apartment.
But something strange happened that day. As I was walking down the street, I suddenly felt a cold breeze, which was really weird because it was summer. I looked around, and no one was near me. When I say no one, I mean not a single person, animal, or car. I sped up my pace to get to Xavier's apartment faster until I felt like someone—or something—pushed me, causing me to fall to the ground. The books fell with me, making the whole thing even more dramatic. I looked ahead to see who had hit me, and I saw something strange... It was like a monster flying. I didn't have time to observe its details because I started to run, hiding from it. I ran until I crashed into someone.
"Xavier?" I said, looking at Xavier, who was holding a sword.
"Carlos?" he said, confused, but he didn't have time to react as the monster was getting closer.
Xavier took the sword and struck it, making the monster scream and disappear in front of my eyes. When Xavier defeated that monster, everything returned to normal: the streets were packed with people, birds were flying around, and the sound of car horns filled the street. I looked up at Xavier, confused.
"Carlos, the world isn't as pretty as I made you think," he said, kneeling down and looking at me.
