A Fire Inside

Notes: I wrote this for a school project a while back, which is already alluding to my false advertising of all of these being from my notes app. How dare I do such a thing. This has a lot to do with mental health, although it's mainly through metaphors. That'll be a running theme for all of these probably. Just a heads up. Thanks again for reading :)

Life is cruel and harsh.
It's raw and cold.
It hits you, unwavering, like gigantic waves crashing onto stones.
Over. And over.
The waves will not stop until there's nothing left but sand.
A bird huddling for safety in the howling winds of a storm.
A fish caught in the maw of a Great White.
The manifestation of life's monster sinks its claws into your flesh.
You lay bleeding out on the stones of cruel and harsh life.
The storm roars above.
The sea bellows its song.
Water weighs down your clothes. Your hair. Your soul.
Is it cold out there?
The monster will send you there.
There's nothing you can do to avoid it.
Life's raw coldness is a front we as humans all must face.
We all have monsters inside us.
Waiting to be awoken by the coldness of life.
But there is a fire inside you.
A fire inside us all.
Your wounds will heal, your clothes will dry, and your soul will reignite.
The storm will cease and the sea will one day whisper.
While scars and stains are forever, your pain is temporary.
You will get the strength to fight your way back home.
Let your pain guide you and light your love.
Your monster may be powerful, but so is your fire.
All you have is your fire.
