"Tesoro, come on, we're going to be late!"
"Aspetta un attimo,  Maya is about to give her speech and I don't want to miss it!"
Carina sat forward in the chair, watching the TV and holding Liam, scanning the crowd until
The camera moved toward the podium and the president of the Olympic Committee stepped forward.
"Madames e Messieurs, le comite e olympique es fier d'accueillir..."
"Madona mio Carina, you are like a lovesick puppy!  You're recording this so let's go and you can watch it later!"
"Basta Gabri!  I'm not leaving yet!  I want Liam to see his mamma!  I wish we could have been there!"
"A dios mio, va bene!  I'm not going to win this one.  Let's watch Maya and THEN we go!"
Gabriella rolled her eyes and laughed as she plopped down and watched with them as Carina pointed to the screen.
"Guarda Bambino, c'e la mamma!"
"The Olympic Committee is proud to welcome two thousand twelve's Olympic gold medalist in the women's ten thousand meter run, from the United States of America, Captain Maya Deluca-Bishop."
Carina couldn't contain her smile as she clapped Liam's hands together and then pointed to the screen as Maya stepped forward, shook hands with the Olympic president, kissed on each cheek and turned to face the crowd.  Liam watched for a moment before kicking his feet and blowing raspberries at seeing Maya.  There was a knock at the door and Gabriella called out.
"Come in, hurry!"
Kate opened the door and ran in.
"I can't believe I almost missed it!"
She took a seat on the other side of Carina as the applause quieted and Maya began to speak.
"Thank you so much for that warm welcome.  It's an honor to be here with all of you at the birthplace of the Olympics.,,,"

"She was fantastico wasn't she?"
Carina was beaming from the back seat as Kate turned around and smiled back.
"She definitely was.  She's going to be an amazing spokesperson for young runners and for the games."
"I have never once wanted to do any kind of sport, but I will admit that Maya inspired me even.  Tell me Tesoro, did you write her speech? It had a very Italian flair and passion about it."
Carina looked over at Gabriella and chuckled.
"No, that was all her.  She wouldn't even let me read it.  Ahhhh, I'm so proud of her! I wish she was coming back today!"
"Heads up, looks like there's been an accident and the road is blocked."
Kate turned back around as Carina and Gabriella peered through the windshield.  Jessie slowed the SUV and parked at an angle on the road, unbuckled and stepped out of the drivers seat.  Kate turned around and motioned.
"Stay in here, we'll go see what's going on and get the road cleared."
Kate got out and walked toward the scene, when her eyes got wide as Carina and Gabriella rushed past her toward the wreck.
"Hey! What the hell did I just say?"
"We are doctors, we have to see if we can help!"
Carina stepped over to the driver's door of one of the cars before looking up at the group.
"You need something to pry this door open and I need some sort of collar so bring the med bag. Kate, I need you to go grab the extinguisher and  get these hoods open so you can spray the engines before they catch fire.  Gabri, check on that one in the other car."
As Gabriella moved toward the other vehicle, Kate and Jessie hustled to the back of their SUV to do as they were instructed.  Jessie looked at Kate with a smile.
"She's fearless and knows her way around a crash scene huh?"
"Well, I guess being married to a firefighter and spending all that time at a firehouse rubs off on you."
They were grabbing what they needed when the screech of tires could be heard.  Jessie looked at Kate and rolled his eyes.
"These friggin Italian drivers, always speeding up onto a cras-"
The sound of a scream had both of them bolting from around the rear of their vehicle as Kate saw Gabriella running toward Carina who was being pulled from the driver she had been working on by two men.  Gabriella leapt onto one of them and started clawing at him until he grabbed her by the shoulders and threw her against one of the cars where she fell to the ground in a daze.  Jessie launched himself at the man as they both fell to the ground and rolled down into the small ditch on the side of the road. The other kidnapper looked at his friend before moving to grab Carina around the waist just as Kate slid across the hood and landed between them, her fist connecting with his chin.  He took a step back before laughing and reaching for his gun as Kate moved to put herself between him and Carina, grabbing onto her wrist as she tried to move Carina out of the way.  Leveling his gun at Kate, he smirked as he began to pull the trigger when he was suddenly taken off balance by Carina kicking him in the groin. 
"Tu stronza!"
Stepping to the side, he grabbed at Carina's free arm and pulled her toward him as he lifted his gun again at Kate.  Holding firmly to Carina's wrist, Kate reached for his hand and managed to shift his aim just as he pulled the trigger.  She felt the searing pain slice through the bottom of her neck as he pulled Carina toward him, his boot coming up and connecting with Kate's midsection.  She was knocked backwards against the door of the wreck, her head slamming into the window, shattering it. Kate slumped to the ground unconscious and bleeding from the neck,  her fingers intertwined into Carina's tennis bracelet as he dragged her kicking and screaming toward his car.  He spun Carina around, pinning her arms to her torso as he pulled a rag from his jacket and covered her nose and mouth, holding it firmly until Carina's body slumped.  Opening the back door, he unceremoniously tossed her on the seat before turning to look back at the scene, getting in and speeding off.

Maya managed to get through all the handshakes and congratulations as she made her way toward the corner of the event center where Lucy and Jane were all smiles.
"You are a helluva speaker Captain Deluca-Bishop.  NCIS could use a spokesperson like you for our recruitment team."
"Thank you, but please, call me Maya Special Agent Tennent."
"Only if you'll call me Jane."
"Deal.  Now if you'll excuse me, I want to run to the ladies room and call my wife."
Jane's phone began to ring and she motioned to Lucy as she stepped away to answer it.
"I'll come with you.  Not all the way in, but I'll wait right out here."
"Thanks Lucy.  I won't be long."
Maya took the couple of steps down and entered the bathroom. She pulled out her phone and leaned against the sink as she listening to the rings, waiting for Carina to pick up.  The phone went to voicemail and Maya frowned slightly as she waited for the beep.
"Hi my love, I was hoping I could talk to you before you started your conference at the hospital.  Oh shit, I forgot about the time difference, dammit.  Ok, well, I miss you and I love you and I'll see you soon.  Kiss Liam and our babies for me."
Maya set her phone down and turned the water on to wash her hands when a stall door opened and a dark haired woman stepped out and moved to the other sink, fishing around in her purse.  Maya smiled politely at her through the mirror but she simply stared back before speaking.
"So you're Maya Bishop?"
"Yes I am, and you are?"
"Who I am isn't your concern, but I have a message for you.  Sami says she going to enjoy watching you squirm."
Maya's eyes narrowed as she looked at the woman.
"What the hell are y-"
The woman pulled a small bottle from her purse and sprayed it directly in Maya's face.  Coughing, Maya felt the room instantly start spinning as she tried to grab the side of the sink but missed and landed in a heap on the floor.  The woman slipped the bottle back in her purse and moved quickly to the door, opening it and letting out a scream. 
"Oh my God I think she's dead!"
Lucy was sending a text to Kate but looked up as the woman took off toward the exit.  Racing into the bathroom, Lucy dropped to her knees and pulled Maya over on her back as Jane came up behind her.
"What the hell just happened? Is she-?"
"She's alive thank God.  I think that woman sprayed her with aerosol chloroform.  Maya?  Maya come on, wake up!"
Jane turned to the security officers who had rushed over and pointed in the direction the woman had run off just as her phone rang again and she looked at it to see Jessie's name pop up. Still kneeling with Maya's head in her lap, Lucy gently slapped Maya's cheeks to try and wake her up.  Jane answered but before she could say anything, her eyes went wide as she turned and looked down at the both of them.
