Jessie could still feel the ghost of Steven’s touch on her skin as she hurried down the hall, her pulse racing. She tried to push the encounter out of her mind, but his words echoed in her ears, refusing to be silenced. The look in his eyes—cold, calculating, yet oddly possessive—haunted her, sending chills down her spine.

She reached the school’s exit and burst through the doors, taking a deep breath of the cool afternoon air. Her heart was pounding in her chest, her mind spinning with a mix of fear and anger. How had things spiraled so far out of control?

Jessie’s thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps behind her. She turned sharply, half-expecting to see Steven standing there, but it was only one of her friends, Sarah, who had come looking for her.“Jessie, are you okay?” Sarah asked, her voice laced with concern.

“You ran out so fast. What happened?”Jessie forced a smile, though she knew it didn’t reach her eyes. “I’m fine,” she lied. “Just...needed some air.”Sarah frowned, clearly not convinced. “Are you sure? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”Jessie shook her head, trying to brush off her friend’s worry.

“I’m fine, really,” she insisted. “I just... I need to be alone for a bit.”Sarah hesitated, her eyes searching Jessie’s face for any sign of the truth. But after a moment, she nodded reluctantly.

“Okay, but if you need to talk, you know where to find me.”Jessie nodded, grateful for her friend’s understanding. “Thanks, Sarah,” she said softly. “I’ll be okay.”With that, Sarah gave her a reassuring smile and headed back inside, leaving Jessie alone once more.

But as soon as her friend was out of sight, the calm facade Jessie had been struggling to maintain shattered. She felt her legs begin to shake, the adrenaline from the confrontation with Steven finally wearing off.

She leaned against the wall for support, trying to steady her breathing. But before she could fully regain her composure, she heard a voice behind her—a voice that made her blood run cold.“Running away again, Jessie?”Jessie froze, every muscle in her body tensing as she slowly turned around.

Steven was standing there, his eyes locked on hers with an intensity that made her heart skip a beat. How had he followed her so quickly? She hadn’t even heard him approaching.“What do you want, Steven?” she asked, her voice trembling despite her best efforts to keep it steady.Steven took a step closer, his gaze never leaving hers. “I told you, Jessie,” he said, his voice calm but with an edge of steel.

“You can’t run from me. Not anymore.”Jessie took a step back, trying to put some distance between them. “You need to stop this,” she said, her voice firmer now. “Whatever you think is going on, it’s not. Just leave me alone.”But Steven only smirked, a dark, twisted smile that made Jessie’s stomach turn. “You don’t get it, do you?” he said, his voice soft, almost gentle. “This isn’t something you can just walk away from.

You’re mine, Jessie. You’ve always been mine. You just didn’t realize it until now.”Jessie’s heart pounded in her chest as she searched for the right words, something that would make him stop, something that would break through whatever hold he thought he had over her. “I don’t belong to you, Steven,” she said, her voice trembling but resolute. “I never have, and I never will.”Steven’s eyes darkened, his expression hardening. “You think you’re so strong, don’t you?”

he said, his voice low, dangerous. “But you’re not. You’re just a scared little girl, pretending to be something you’re not.”Jessie’s anger flared at his words, giving her the courage to stand her ground. “And you’re nothing but a coward, Steven,” she shot back, her voice sharp. “You think you can scare me into doing what you want, but you’re wrong. I’m not afraid of you".

Steven’s eyes flashed with something dark and dangerous, and he closed the distance between them in an instant. Before Jessie could react, he grabbed her arm, pulling her close, his breath hot against her ear. “You should be,” he whispered, his voice filled with menace.Jessie struggled against his grip, her heart racing with fear and fury.

“Let go of me, Steven!” she demanded, trying to wrench her arm free. But his grip only tightened, his eyes locked on hers with a terrifying intensity.“You can fight all you want,” Steven murmured, his voice dripping with dark amusement. “But it won’t change anything. You’re mine, Jessie. And sooner or later, you’ll realize that.”

Jessie felt a wave of panic rise in her chest as she looked into his eyes, seeing the darkness that had taken hold of him. This wasn’t the Steven she had known—the shy, awkward boy she had once pitied. This was someone else entirely, someone dangerous and unpredictable. But despite the fear that gripped her, Jessie refused to back down. She met his gaze with all the defiance she could muster, her voice steady and cold.

“You don’t own me, Steven,” she said. “And you never will.”For a moment, they stood there, locked in a silent battle of wills. Then, slowly, Steven’s grip on her arm loosened, and he stepped back, his expression unreadable.“Fine,” he said, his voice calm, almost bored. “Have it your way, Jessie. But remember this—you can’t hide from me. Not forever.”With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Jessie standing there, her heart pounding in her chest.

She watched him go, her mind racing with a mix of fear, anger, and confusion. What had happened to Steven? How had he become this... this monster?Jessie took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions swirling inside her. She knew one thing for certain—she couldn’t let Steven get the upper hand. She had to stay strong, stay focused. Whatever he was planning, whatever game he was playing, she wouldn’t let him win.

As she stood there, the rain starting to fall around her, Jessie made a silent vow. She would find a way to end this, to stop Steven before he went too far. But deep down, she knew it wouldn’t be easy.

The darkness that had taken hold of him was deep and insidious, and it would take all her strength to fight it.But she would. She had to.
