"What the hell just happened?" Emily stood stunned, as JJ and Spencer were bent over the little girl, checking on her.
"We need to get her to a hospital." JJ looked up at Emily, while turning the girl over so her head was laid in her lap.
"Uh, you and Reid take her, we'll finish the debriefing and meet you there."
"Yeah. Ready, 1, 2...?" Spencer nodded and helped JJ lift the poor girl off the floor. From there, they raced to the elavator, not wanting to risk carrying her down the stairs, considering her already fragile state. "I'll drive."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JJ sat in the back, holding the little girl close, while Reid sped off towards the nearest hospital. JJ's heart went out for her; tears forming in her eyes. Moving her hand over the girl's shirt to try and cover her small body, she felt something--a box. "Spence she has something taped to her abdemon."
"Should I pull over?" He glanced back at her for a second.
"N-, no. I'll keep her stable, we'll have the hospital take it off and hand it over to us immediatly." JJ gently lifted the girls shirt to reveal duct tape around her chest and a rectangular, black object beneath it. "I'm pretty sure it's an old recorded tape." JJ went quiet for a moment, her hands shaky. This was really really bad: bad for this little girl and bad timing. "Spence-."
"I know." He briefly met her gaze again. "We'll be there in ten." With that he turned the sirens on and the heat up. JJ covered her small body in her FBI jacket and gently smoothed out her hair.
JJ kept her eyes on the girl. She felt such a strong sense of protection over her. She's seen cases of simular stature, but this one, she new was going to be different. JJ rushed her towards the emergency enterence, with Reid not far behind. "We need help!" JJ called, going through the automatic doors.
Two female nurses quickly rushed to their aide, bringing a bed with them. JJ placed her down, while another started asking them questions.
"What's her name? Age?" The male nurse asked, his name tag read Alan. He was clearly a mixed race, with a buzz cut, and some stuble. The nurse was on the shorter side, but obviously fit; wearing plain blue scrubs and grey undershirt.
"We don't know." JJ answered, pulling out her FBI badge and showing it to him.
"She just showed up at FBI Headquarters, terrified, passed out, and we brought her straight here. She looks malnurished and I'm positive she'll have other extensive injuries related to abuse or abduction." Reid filled in as they started wheeling the girl back.
JJ followed but was stopped as soon as she reached the authorized personel only doors. "No, wait! I have to go with her. I-, I'm SSA Jareau with the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. You don't know what she's been through and-." Spencer rushed over, hearing JJ's fear.
"We believe she's a victim of a kidnapping; she's part of our current investigaiton."
"I get that agents, but my team needs the space to work. By the looks of it, that little girl is barely holding on and will most likely need to go to the O.R. I promise to update you both as soon as possible. You're more than welcome to wait in the lobby till then." With that, she turned, scanning her badge to open the doors, and quickly walking through. JJ stood there frozen, until she felt Spencer's hand on her shoulder.
"Let's go sit and call Emily."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Alright, thanks Reid." Emily hung up and sat back down around the bullpen. Everyone else was waiting in anticipation for any news she could give. "Spencer and JJ will be staying at the hospital. Nurses took the girl back immediatly, saying she was unconcious and barely breathing. They might need to take her to the O.R, and will update them as soon as they're able. For now, we need to figure out how this ties into our case and who she is. Rossi and I will take the crime scene and everything like that here, of our current victim. Matt, Luke, and Tara I want you three to start down in Flordia. Talk with the police department and CPS, see how much they know about each of the kidnappings. With this girl we have to assume she isn't the only one taken from here, since this unsub targets foster homes with at least two kids from the system. Now, there haven't been any ransom demands or posted threats yet, but with her pressumed escape, their going to hunt again or be on the move. Which reminds me, JJ said she had some sort of old tape, lyterially duct taped to her body, so that should be here within the hour, and I'll let you know what we find."
"We going in this with not much to go on, so any detail you come across, share." Rossi added, getting up.
"Right. Ill contact the departments to let them know you're coming. Wheels up in ten." Emily nodded and everyone got to work.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emily and Rossi met the detective at the crime scene around 1:30AM.
"Hey, thanks for coming on such short notice." The head detective, Jasper Wallace, walked over to them, pulling off a blue disposable glove, and shaking their hands.
"Fill us in." Emily headed to the boy's body. "Any obstructions with the body or scene?"
"No. One of my men actually found the body on patrol; called it in right away. Figured it's been sitting here a few hours, but corner said the boy's been dead at least a couple weeks; preserved in ice, probaly a freezer." The detective stated as a matter of fact, while Rossi canvased the rest of the scene.
They were in the back of an an ally way, a few miles from the BAU. The body though well preserved and wrapped in a thin, blue, ragged blanket. "Some sort of remorse, maybe....wrapping the boy in a blanket." Emily observed, bending down to get a closer look. "Any sign of sexual assult?"
"Yes." A black women, in her mid twenties walked over to them with a small smile. She wore a long grey puffercoat over a blue pantsuit with black sneakers, her braids tied back into a high ponytail. "I'm Abigale Coleman, the new coroner. I'll of course know more when the official examination and autopsy is done."
As they talked more for the next several minutes, Rossi came across something just beneath the dumster closest to the body. "Emily?."
"Is that?" Emily shines her flashlight on it, as Rossi flips it over, continuing to exam it.
"Another tape." They walk back out under the police tape, waving goodbye to the officers on scene, and bag it up. "Let's get this one to Garcia too. I think we're dealing with a team, sexual sadists even. With the different M.O's, the body preservation, this girl, these tapes-." Emily opened the passenger's side door, climbing in; Rossi drove.
"We need to figure out what the hell is going on here." Rossi sighed, pulling out of the parking spot, and back to the BAU.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh, good you're back!" Penelope stood at the top of the steps next to Emily's office. "You'll definitly want to see this."
"See what, Garcia?" Rossi arched an eyebrow, walking up to the colorful women holding a tablet and remote; Emily not far behind.
"The tape from that little girl. Oh, I hope she's okay! Did Reid or JJ say anything yet? Any calls? Updates? The poor thing." Penelope rambeled worridly, getting sidetracked. Rossi and Emily followed her to the bullpen.
Rossi sighed, but understood her concern, as she had the biggest heart of all of them most of the times. They hadn't heard anything yet. "Penelope, the tape?"
"Right! Sorry sir." She pulled up the contents of the old tape onto the big screen.
The video tape began, with voices heard over a black screen......
