20 The letter

A/n: This is a double update, as yesterday was published chapter 19 and soon after, meaning today, it's published chapter 20. So, go back and read first ch 19, before this one, if you didn't yet.
But, please, would you try getting out of your silent mood for just a few seconds, while typing a comment, even a negative one? It's really demotivating and sad for an author to never get any reaction from readers.

"Don't be sad anymore, this is the normal cycle of life, not only for this rabbit. We are all born, live a short or a longer life, then we die at some point, no matter if it is animals or humans.
But if it would make you feel better, I could help you bury the rabbit. I have some great tools for digging a small tomb for him! Look!", the creature waved his scary claws before Beauty's teary eyes, trying to diminish his pain a bit.

"Yes, help me please, that way I could take care of his tomb and make him feel loved, even if only in death. Over there, at the root of that big tree, the tomb would be more sheltered. I will make a small fence from sharp sticks around, tomorrow, so the animals do not dig him out.", Beauty cheered up a little.

While Beauty went inside the house to bring a box to put the dead rabbit in it, Beast dug a deep hole at the tree's root.

He was about to scoop one last paw of soil, when his claw bumped into a rigid metal.

"I think that it's deep enough.", Beauty said when came back and noticed that the creature kept digging.
He wrapped the rabbit corpse in the sweater brought from the house and placed it into the box.

Beast pulled out from under the ground a rusty metal box and shook it. It seemed that it was not empty.

"Woah! What's that? Did you find a treasure? I never found a treasure! I want so much to know what's inside! Do you think it's safe to open it?", Beauty asked, his eyes shining from curiosity and excitement.

"If it's alright with you, I'd rather open it, not you. It would be safer if you'd move away a few steps, just in case...", Beast smiled affectionately at the excited big kid, happy that at least he was not crying anymore.

"It's a book and a dozen of small bags that seem to be plant seeds or something like that!
And also a drawing, a portrait.", Beast explained after finally managing to remove the rusty box cap.

"So, it's nothing dangerous! Let me see!", Beauty snatched the box from Beast's claws.
"Oh, this is a beautiful drawing and a beautiful woman! Wait, it's something written at the bottom.
