As someone who prefers anime, I'm leaning on Masane but mixing the anime lore, with comic lore, and likely mentioning Sara and Alex as former Witchblade users Masane is just the current wielder of Witchblade and it's power, much like how Damian is the current wielder of the Darkness and Hellspawn powers.
