As Gaara and his team turned to leave, Sakura finally gathered the courage to ask, "Wait, who are you?"

The blonde girl, Temari, glanced back and smirked. "We're the Sand Village geniuses from the Land of Wind," she said, flashing her ID. "We came to this village to take the Chunin Exam."

Naruto, still confused, furrowed his brow. "Chunin Exam? What's that?"

Temari chuckled. "You really don't know?" she asked, half in disbelief.

Before Naruto could respond, Konohamaru piped up. "Bro, if you pass the exam, you can become a Chunin from a Genin!"

Naruto's eyes lit up with excitement. "I see! Then, maybe I'll try taking them!"

As they turned to leave, Gaara let out a small, amused "heh," his interest in Naruto piqued. Sasuke, who had been silently observing from his perch, suddenly jumped down from the tree. "Hey, what's your name?" he asked, his voice calm but with an edge of curiosity.

Temari, thinking Sasuke was talking to her, smiled coyly. "Are you asking about me?"

"No," Sasuke replied quickly, his eyes narrowing. "I'm talking about the guy next to you."

Gaara stopped and turned slightly. "I'm Gaara of the Desert," he said, his tone flat. "And I have an interest in the person next to you as well. What's his name?"

Sasuke hesitated, not quite understanding why Gaara would be interested in Naruto of all people. Before he could answer, Naruto jumped in with a grin. "I'm Uzumaki Naruto!" he announced proudly.

Gaara's gaze lingered on Naruto for a moment before he turned away, uninterested in the conversation that followed. But Naruto, completely unaware of the tension, leaned down to Konohamaru with a huge smile. "This is the first time someone's been interested in me, hehe! I'm pretty strong, right?"

Konohamaru nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, super strong!"

As they walked away, Sasuke couldn't help but notice that Gaara seemed more intrigued by Naruto than him, which stirred something unpleasant in him. Meanwhile, from afar, several other ninja began to take notice of the trio, especially Sasuke.

Back in the village, the sensei were gathered, discussing the upcoming Chunin Exam with the Third Hokage. They knew the rookies would be at a disadvantage, but they were also aware of the hidden potential among them.

Time Skip

The next day, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were once again waiting for Kakashi, who, as usual, was late. Sakura was the first to voice her frustration. "It's so annoying how he's always late!"

Naruto, always full of energy, agreed, pumping his fist in the air. "Yeah! It's driving me crazy!"

Sasuke, on the other hand, was deep in thought. *How is he so cute but also so damn active in the morning?*

Just then, Kakashi appeared out of nowhere, casually greeting them. "Good morning. I got a bit lost on the path of life."

Both Sakura and Naruto yelled in unison, "That's a lie!"

Ignoring their outburst, Kakashi got straight to the point. "I've got something important to tell you. The Chunin Exam is coming up, and this is your ticket. It's your choice whether you want to join or not."

Before Kakashi could finish, Naruto leaped onto him, wrapping his arms around his neck and swinging from his body in excitement. "We're gonna take the exam! I'm so pumped!"

Kakashi, his face still emotionless, simply said, "Cut it out, Naruto." But deep down, he couldn't help but find Naruto's enthusiasm endearing, even though he didn't show it. Sasuke, watching the interaction, felt a twinge of jealousy.

The trio passed Kakashi's pre-exam test, proving they were ready to face the challenges ahead. That night, in a different part of the village, another group was discussing the upcoming exam.

"Rookies are joining the Chunin Exam?" Neji asked, surprised.

Tenten, unable to believe it, said, "No way..."

But Lee, always eager for a challenge, nodded. "Yes, they are with Kakashi. This will be interesting."

The trio arrived at the building where the exam would take place, only to find a large crowd gathered. Two older kids were blocking the entrance, taunting the newcomers. "You're joining the Chunin Exam with that skill of yours? Green-assed brats!"

Tenten, worried about Lee, tried to intervene. "Let them in; the number is 301, which means this should be the right room."

But before anything else could happen, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura arrived, with Naruto yelling, "This room is fake! This is the second floor!"

Sakura, using her sensory skills, confirmed it. "This isn't the right room. It's just an illusion."

One of the bullies was about to start a fight with Sakura when Lee suddenly intervened, blocking the attack with his hand. His team quickly joined him, reminding him they promised not to attract attention. But when Lee saw Sakura, his heart skipped a beat. He rushed over to her, introducing himself. "Please go out with me! I'll protect you until I die!"

Sakura, taken aback, quickly shot him down. "Absolutely not!"

Lee's face fell, but he quickly recovered as Neji walked over to Sasuke. The two boys stared at each other, sizing each other up.

Naruto, feeling overshadowed yet again, slumped against the wall. *Not again... Damn it, why is it always Sasuke?*

Neji, noticing Sasuke's intense gaze, asked, "When asking someone their name, you should give yours first."

Sasuke, unimpressed, responded coolly, "I won't answer that question."

Tenten chuckled from the sidelines, enjoying the exchange.
