Chapter 4

At lunch, Casey and Jess sat down on the bleachers again.

"Hester is cute." Jess said. "And she is bi, but she's in love with Conner."

"That does pose a problem." She said.

"I kinda have a crush on Ava though." Jess whispered.

"Really? She's dating Levi. And she has been since 8th grade." Casey was surprised.

"Yeah, but she's cute and smart. We are in the same Spanish class." Jess said.

"Well, yeah, but she is still dating someone." Casey replied.

"What are you guys doing?" Finn came up to us.

"Girl spotting. Got to find a new crush." Jess said, smiling.

"You're a lesbian?" Finn asked.

"Yep, my parents know, they don't care, nobody cares. My parents just want me to get good grades." Jess explained.

"Cool. Mind if I sit down." Finn looked at me when he said that.

"Sure, but you better not be telling everyone my crushes." Jess said.

I nodded.

Finn sat down next to Jess. "What about Ava?"

"See that's what I said!" Jess looked at me again.

"Girl, are you girl spotting with us? Cool." Casey said to Finn. "But I told you once, and I'll tell you again. Ava has been dating Levi since 8th grade. Right after I dumped him. She's taken."

"I know, but she's cute." Jess said.

"That's why she's taken, she's cute, has a nice smile, nice and has totally been crushing on Levi for forever." Casey said.

"You sound like your crushing on her now." Jess pointed out.

"How can I tell you anything, your hopeless. H O P E L E S S. Can I spell it out for you any more." She joked.

"You could." Jess said with a smirk.

Casey sighed, she knew what was going to happen next. "How."

"By sending me this emoji." She mimicked the emoji where it facepalmed.

"Ok, I'll make sure to do that." Casey smiled, she loved her best friend. She was absolutely insane. "What about Elena?"

"The violin enthusiast?" Jess asked.

"Who else? Listen, she's pretty, smart and we're partners in Bio. She is super witty and funny in a smart way." Casey suggested.

"She is real pretty. And I love Biology, I'm gonna go talk to her." Jess walked away towards Elena.

"A new match successfully matched!" Casey sat back in victory.

"You and Jess interact well, I can see why you guys are friends." Finn remarked.

"She's crazy but she's my kind of crazy, besties since the first day of kindergarten." Casey smiled.

Finn cleared his throat. "That's a special bond."

 "Yeah, anyways, why are you here?" Casey looked at him in question.

 "Because, uh, I hoped we could be friends, I need some." Finn looked down.

 "Sure." Casey replied. "Come with me." 

 Casey grabbed Finn's hand. Leading him through the crowd.

 "Hey Casey, another boy?" Amber called out.

 Casey smiled and laughed. "You too I see!" She replied.

 Amber stood next to her little brother. "Just my little bro."

 Casey continued leading Finn through the cluster of high school kids. Until she finally stopped.

 "Hey Jason, Tedros." She said 

 "Hi Casey, what are you here for, to date me again?" Jason wiggled his eyebrow.

 "Ha! Never. Anyways this is Finn, he moved here from Oregon. He also enjoys soccer." Casey smiled.

 "Finn, are you her new arm candy?" Tedros winked. "Don't worry, we all have been it at one point in time."

 "Funny." She let go of Finn's wrist.

 "How did you know I liked soccer?" Finn whispered.

 "Your mom. She talks a lot about you." Casey said loudly.

 "She's already met the in laws. Finn, she breaking up with you soon." Jason smirked.

 "Don't give him a hard time, I need him, he gave me a ride. We're not dating, just friends." Casey smiled. "Play nice."

 She turned around and left. Finn could do it himself.
