December 24

The weeks rolled by with a strange mix of routine and restlessness. I found myself looking forward to certain flights more than others—particularly the ones that brought Lando on board. There was something comforting about his presence, even if I couldn't fully relax around him. His charm and light flirtation were predictable, something I could handle, even enjoy at times. But there was always a part of me that stayed on high alert, never letting my guard down completely.

It was the end of the Formula 1 season, and the atmosphere on board was lighter than I'd ever seen it. The drivers were in a celebratory mood, all laughter and jokes as they boarded the jet. This flight was different—there was no tension, no pre-race nerves, just a sense of freedom. They were finally on their way to some well-deserved holidays.

Lando  was back, and this time he wasn't alone. Verstappen and George Russell joined him, their camaraderie evident as they bantered back and forth. It was hard not to get caught up in their energy. As I moved through the cabin, making sure everything was in order, I couldn't help but notice Lando's eyes on me. There was something in his gaze that made my skin tingle, a warmth that was impossible to ignore.

"Hey, Cordelia, I think we already know eachother enough to give you a nickname. How about Cordy?" Lando greeted me with a grin that was equal parts playful and charming. The nickname caught me off guard, but I kept my expression neutral. "Long time no see. How've you been?"

I raised an eyebrow at the nickname but kept my tone professional. "Good morning, Mr. Norris. I've been well, thank you. How was the last race?"

"Cordy, just Lando, please" he insisted, leaning back in his seat, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "The race was alright, not my best, but I'm not complaining. I'm just ready to relax now."

I allowed myself a small smile, indulging him just a little. "I'm glad to hear that, Lando, 2nd in the championship is a massive thing. A break sounds well-deserved after the season you've had."

Before he could respond, George Russell chimed in with a grin. "Yeah, Lando's been talking about this holiday for weeks. I think he's more excited about this trip than he was about the race."

Lando shot George a playful glare. "Can you blame me? Sleep, snow, and no cars—what's not to love?"

Max, lounging in his seat, chuckled. "You just want to relax and not think about anything for a while, don't you?"

"Exactly," Lando agreed before turning his attention back to me. "So, Cordy, what about you? What do you do when you're not flying around with us crazy lot?"

I was tempted to laugh at the nickname again but kept my tone measured. "I enjoy reading and traveling, though I suppose I get plenty of that with work."

"Yeah, but you're always working," Lando teased, his tone light but with a hint of genuine curiosity. "Don't you ever just want to, I don't know, kick back and do nothing?"

I gave him a thoughtful look, the corners of my mouth twitching into a polite smile. "Doing nothing has its appeal sometimes, but I'm not very good at sitting still."

Lando's grin widened, clearly enjoying the back-and-forth. "I can tell. You're always so focused. It's impressive, really. But maybe you should try relaxing more. Could be good for you."

There was a part of me that wanted to let my guard down, to just enjoy the easy conversation, but I couldn't forget who he was. "I'll take that under advisement, Lando," I replied, keeping my tone light but professional.

As the flight continued, I couldn't help but feel Lando's gaze on me whenever I passed by. He wasn't just looking—he was observing, as if trying to figure me out. His persistence was both flattering and unsettling. I'd heard the rumors about him, about how he was a charmer on and off the track, and I knew better than to get too close. But there was something disarming about the way he smiled at me, as if he genuinely wanted to get to know me, not just flirt for the sake of it.
