The sky above Monaco was painted with strokes of soft orange and pink, the kind of sunset that made the entire world feel drenched in magic. The breeze from the Mediterranean was cool but gentle, and I could hear the distant lapping of waves against the harbor's docks. Lando and I sat on a stone bench overlooking the sea, a picnic blanket spread out in front of us, the remains of our simple dinner scattered around: half-eaten sandwiches, a bottle of wine, and a few chocolate-covered strawberries.

For the first time in what felt like forever, life was peaceful.

I leaned back, feeling the roughness of the stone against my palms, and closed my eyes. The past few months had been a whirlwind, an adventure that was both terrifying and exhilarating. But in this moment, with the sea breeze in my hair and Lando's presence warm beside me, it felt like everything had fallen perfectly into place.

"So," Lando broke the silence, his voice soft but full of that familiar playfulness. "Tell me more about this new project of yours. You know, the one that's got the world buzzing."

I opened my eyes and turned to him, smiling. His hair was a mess, tousled by the wind, and the golden light from the setting sun made his blue eyes look like liquid fire. He was beautiful—had always been—but there was something different about him now. A confidence, a peace, that came from achieving something extraordinary.

"Well," I said, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, "it's just the beginning. We're launching the initiative next month. It's all about creating safer corporate environments for women, making sure companies have policies that actually protect their employees. It's... more personal than I ever thought it would be, but I'm proud of it."

He reached out, his fingers intertwining with mine, and squeezed my hand. "You should be. You've already changed so many lives, Cordelia. And you're just getting started."

I looked down at our joined hands, my heart swelling with gratitude. It had taken so much to get here—so much pain, fear, and fighting—but I was stronger because of it. And more than that, I was hopeful. For the future, for the impact I could make, and for us.

"I couldn't have done any of it without you," I murmured, my voice catching. "You gave me the courage to speak up, to fight back, even when I was terrified."

Lando tilted his head, his gaze softening. "No, that was all you," he said, his voice firm but full of affection. "You've always had that strength in you. I just had the privilege of witnessing it."

I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes, but this time, they were happy tears, the kind that felt like relief and joy rolled into one. "You always know what to say, don't you?" I teased, laughing softly.

He shrugged, that mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Only when it comes to you.I love you babe"

We sat there for a while longer, the conversation turning lighter, drifting to his preparations for the upcoming F1 season. The world had changed so much for both of us, yet some things stayed the same. Lando's passion for racing, his love for the sport, was still as fierce as ever. And my love for him? It had only deepened, shaped by everything we'd been through.

"Do you ever think about how far we've come?" I asked, staring out at the horizon. The sun was almost gone now, dipping into the sea, painting the sky in deep purples and blues.

Lando leaned back, exhaling. "Every day. Sometimes I can't believe it. Winning the championship, us making it through all the chaos. It feels unreal."

I turned to him, my heart full. "But we made it," I said, my voice strong. "We fought for this, for each other. And we're still here."

He looked at me, his eyes shining with something I could only describe as love—deep, unwavering love. "Yeah," he said quietly. "We are."

There was a comfortable silence, the kind that only came with knowing someone so deeply that words weren't necessary. I leaned my head against his shoulder, and he wrapped an arm around me, pulling me closer. The world felt vast and full of possibilities, but right now, all that mattered was this: the two of us, together, unbreakable.

A seagull cried out in the distance, and I laughed. "Looks like we're not the only ones enjoying this evening," I said.

Lando chuckled, the sound rumbling through his chest. "Let's hope he doesn't steal our leftover strawberries. Those are sacred."

I smiled, feeling lighter than I had in a long time. It was easy to forget the hard parts when we had moments like this. But I knew that even in the difficult times, we'd always have each other to lean on.

"Ready for next season?" I asked, looking up at him.

He thought for a moment, then nodded. "More than ever. But even if I wasn't, I'd be ready for whatever comes next as long as I have you."

I felt warmth flood through me, and I tilted my face up to kiss his cheek. "We've got this, then. Whatever comes next."

He kissed my forehead, and I closed my eyes, savoring the feeling of being so utterly and completely loved.

As the last of the sun's light disappeared and the stars began to twinkle in the sky, I knew that our story was far from over. There would be more challenges, more victories, and more moments of doubt. But one thing was certain: we'd face it all together, our love stronger than ever, ready for whatever adventures lay ahead.

A love worth fighting for, I thought, holding onto him tightly. And I'd fight for it a thousand times over.
