-Unknown POV-

'I can't believe these two,' I thought, narrowing my eyes at the sight of two familiar-looking cats snuggled up to a woman inside the warm, cosy house. 'How can they be so calm, given our situation? And how did they find a random human woman to take care of them?'

"HE'S MINE!" a loud voice echoed through the alleyway, followed by the sound of paws grappling on the ground. I sighed deeply. Great, another tantrum. This was becoming a daily occurrence. I jumped off the window ledge and headed toward the nearby alleyway where the others had set up camp.

"GIVE TEDDY BACK NOW!" came the shrill cry as I rounded the corner.

-No POV-

A tiny lilac kitten was aggressively stalking up to a bold red kitten, who was slightly bigger and holding a small brown item in his mouth: a tiny teddy bear, shrunken to match its current size and wearing a miniature eyepatch. The red kitten darted away, leading the lilac one on a wild chase around the alley. But just as the red kitten thought he'd escape, he ran headfirst into what felt like a brick wall.

Or so he thought.

In reality, it was a spotless white kitten standing boldly in his path. The red kitten, now sprawled on the ground from the impact, looked up wide-eyed at the white cat, who narrowed his gaze in a warning.

"What the hell, Subaru? Get out of my way!" the red cat demanded angrily, but Subaru, the white cat, didn't budge.

"GIVE TEDDY BACK!" The lilac kitten had caught up and snatched the teddy from the red one's grasp, clutching it protectively in his mouth. The teddy bear had been a constant companion, even before they were transformed, and it was clear the lilac cat had no intention of parting with it.

"Enough," a deeper voice commanded, silencing the three smaller cats. A dark purple, almost black, slightly bigger cat approached, his presence exuding authority. He dropped a small, dark-coloured fedora with a deep red ribbon around it from his mouth, a hat he had found during their travels, now shrunken like everything else. He had held onto it, being the responsible one of the group, and would return it to its owner when the time was right.

"While out here, we need to be cautious of animal control. They'd take us away without a second thought. But I have a hunch about where the other two might be," the dark purple cat announced, his tone commanding the attention of the others.

Curiosity piqued, and the other cats followed him as he returned to the house. He jumped back onto the window ledge, the others scrambling up to join him, and peered inside. Sure enough, there were their two missing brothers, nestled comfortably on the couch with the pretty human woman, entirely at ease as if they hadn't a care in the world.

"Yep, that's them," Subaru muttered, his voice tinged with irritation. He leapt off the ledge and circled the house, seemingly looking for something.

"I wonder who that woman is, Teddy," the lilac kitten mumbled around the bear, his voice muffled but his curiosity apparent.

"WHAT?! So while we've been living out in the cold, rainy streets, they've been living a life of luxury in there?!" the red cat yelled, his voice thick with jealousy and anger.

-Reiji's POV-

I watched as the woman suddenly got up, her expression frantic as she looked around the room. She grabbed her bag, kissed the two cats on the head—*our* brothers—and hurried toward the door. I signalled the others to jump off the ledge, ensuring we weren't seen.

"I'll be back soon, babies," the woman cooed, her voice soft and affectionate. She locked the door behind her and stepped out, quickly walking down the street.
