How did it get to this point?

How did Lila Rossi get to this point?

It was supposed to be easy. She was supposed to be the queen of the school, students at her beck and call. She was supposed to be unopposed and untouchable. That was what she thought until she entered Francoise Dupont and encountered the brat that was Marinette Dupain-Cheng. The girl didn't know how to fall in line and it infuriated Lila to no end. She stood in the way between her and total power. Of course, the threats had helped to subdue the girl, her own friends turning on her and throwing her into a void of isolation. It was almost easy how the girl came close to breaking yet somehow held tight to her resolve. When Hawkmoth had first encountered Lila, the power was like nothing she could ever hope for. She craved it. Finally someone saw her potential and even offered to help her take her place among the idiots. All she had to do was take down some D-List heroes and turn in the jewels they possessed. It shouldn't have been easy with her cunning and intellect, yet somehow the spotted freak had foiled her at every turn. The new hatred had burned in Lila; she didn't know who she should hate more.

Marinette or Ladybug?

Yet again Lila had accepted the dark butterfly, eager to once again attempt to rid Paris of the hero Ladybug. Her anger was boiling inside. Adrien had threatened her. Chloe, the self appointed bully, had refused to pitch in on the Marinette slander. Felix was a thorn in her side she just couldn't shake no matter what lie she spun.

She was losing. Lila didn't lose.

So there Volpina stood, facing down Ladybug as she stared back. Neither girl moved, neither dared to breathe. Neither knows who eventually moved first. Volpina brandished her flute and knocked away the yoyo before throwing a punch at the Ladybug, missing and receiving her own kick in return. The girls spun in a deadly dance, blows trading and weapons clashing.

Neither realized when Chat Noir and Argos joined the fight, neither cared. Volpina glared as Ladybug fought, the red hero throwing blows with more ferocity than she had ever seen. This fight was clearly personal. Maybe Ladybug was as tired of her as she was of Ladybug? Chat Noir rushed forward and attempted to take the flute from Volpina while Argos placed himself in front of a huffing Ladybug. He shot her a worried glance, her own locking on him and a small nod of thanks sent his way. They both looked to Chat as he traded blows with Lila, the blond holding his own under the onslaught of blows.

Argos went to leap into battle, Ladybug's own hand stopping him. He raised a brow at her as she pulled him close by his collar. "Don't go getting yourself killed. She isn't playing nice and Adrien will kill me if I let his cousin get killed by Lila of all people." Argos gave her a small smile and took her hand, a kiss placed perfectly onto the back. "Whatever the princess wishes." Ladybug grinned and took off, unknowing of the glances Argos sent Chat's way.

"If only you knew."

The fight seemed to last hours. Blows were flying with extreme speed and ferocity. Blood poured from noses and cuts. Curses and insults being traded, neither side wanting to accept defeat. Chat lifted and spun Ladybug with practiced ease, blows synchronized and precise. Argos took to up close battle, his fan slashing and kicks flying. Lila was holding her own, a sick smirk never leaving her face and sending unease through the heroes. The fight seemed to be at a standstill.

Until it wasn't.

Nobody saw it coming. Argos was too distracted trying to stop Chat from flying away due to a hard kick from Volpina and Ladybug was to focused on her own attack to notice. Volpina let out a cackle as she plunged the knife into Ladybug's stomach, twisting the blade fast and cold. A sickening squelch echoed through the air as Volpina extracted the dagger before plunging it back in with more force and determination. She took it back out and repeated her motion.
