The Great Escape

Gargamel POV

After a while of walking, we finally made it to my hovel. I place the ingredients on the bench and the smurfs in a cage. As I locked it with a key, I noticed that they were still frozen, meaning that they can't escape so soon.

Once  was done, I went over to my spell book, and started to read it. It sad that I have to place the ingredients in and say the spell a couple of times. Mist should rise from it to form a portal.

I was about to do it when Azreal meowed. I looked over to see him pointing to the clock. It was then I realised that the journey had taken the whole day and the sun was starting to set. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow. After all, I am a little tired.

"Alright Azreal," I said. "I'll make us all food. But straight after dinner we sleep, okay?" Azreal nodded and sat on the dining table with Monty.

I then turned to the cage, where I saw that the Freeze Ball affects had worn off.

"You know how you booked for a play that is so exciting that you never wanted to leave?" I asked. "Well, this show is happening tomorrow, and be sure to not escape or you'll miss the show, okay?"

"We're not missing this show," Smurfette said. "We're here to stop it,"

"Yeah," The smart smurf said. "Maybe you should have not brought us here," "I'd like to see you try," I said. "Get some rest and prepare for the upcoming show," With that, I left for the kitchen and began to brew up a stew.

One nice stew should be enough for tomorrow after all.

Smurfette POV

"He's gone," I said after Gargamel had left. 

"Thank goodness that he's doing it tomorrow," Hefty said. "This is our chance to escape,"

"Gargamel's still here," Brainy said. "I think we should escape after he has fallen asleep,"

"I agree with Brainy," Clumsy said. "If he sees us, he will instantly catch us," "But if he doesn't?" Hefty asked. "Last time, we escaped when Gargamel was distracted with his machine,"

"But that was when only two of us made it to the shelf," Brainy said. "The others were dumped into the machine to get their essence drained,"

"That was when Azreal saw us," hefty said. "With all the villains distracted, we might have a chance,"

"Okay," Brainy said. "Let's do it. Let's just stay quiet,"

"What's the plan?" I asked.

"Luckily, our cage isn't far from that shelf," Brainy said, pointing to a nearby shelf. "Here's what we're going to do. I pick this lock, we swing to that shelf, pick up something heavy, and use it to destroy this place!"

 "What?" We all asked.

"Wait," Hefty said. "You want us to destroy this place?"

"Fine," Brainy said. "We'll just destroy what he needs for the spell,"

"Genius!" I said. "Let's do it," So Brainy reached out and placed his hand inside the lock. He started to pick it while we look out for Gargamel and his pets. 

Finally, we heard a click. "Yes!" Brainy cheered. He removed the lock and opened the door. We joined hands and dropped down from the cage. We swing over to the other cage and soon enough, Hefty grabbed a shelf edge while I held on to the cage edge.

"Alright," I said. "Pull us up, Hefty," I let go of the cage and using his strength, he slowly started to pull  us up, and as soon as all of us was on the shelf, we started to search for a heavy object.

But only after a few seconds, we heard Clumsy yell, "Woah!" We turned to see him tripping over and hitting a glass jar. It fell out of the shelf and down to the grown. It smashed into pieces and made a loud noise.

"Clumsy!" We all yelled.

"Oops," Clumsy said. That was loud enough to alert Gargamel. We heard loud footsteps.

"Quick," I said. "Hide!" We quickly hid behind books as we hear Gargamel entering the room.

"What?" He asked. "They escaped? Boys, find them!" We heard Azreal and Monty searching the room and breaking anything they could find.

"No, I said find them, not break my things!" Gargamel yelled."

"This is your fault, Clumsy," Brainy said. "We would've succeed at my genius escape plan if you hadn't made noise,"

"Hey, I'm called Clumsy for a reason," Clumsy said. "But at least I learn from mistakes,"

"I forgive you, Clumsy," I said. "Just make sure you watch your step."

"What do we do?" Hefty whispered.

Just before any of us could reply, we heard a book move.

We turned around to see Gargamel, Azreal, and Monty staring at us.

"Ah ha!" Gargamel said. "You think you can ruin my plans again?" There was one thing I could think of.

" Smurfintine formation!" I yelled. We were just about to run in seperate directions when Gargamel grabbed us.

" Smurfintine won't work now," Gargamel said. "Soon enough, I will conquer the other dimension, you will be destroyed, no one's going to stop me and ruin my plans. No one's going to save you now. Hahaha!"

"Are you sure about that, Gargamel?" A voice suddenly yelled. We turned to see that standing on the entrance of the lair was the giant spider. Riding on it was Poppy, Branch, John Dory, Floyd, Spruce, Clay, and Viva.

"Impossible!" Gargamel said. "How on earth did you get that thing on your side?"

"We had experiences in the past," Poppy said. "We faced Bergens and the Rock Trolls, and we learnt that the best way to defeat your enemy is to make them your friend. And that's what we did,"

"Get him, Crawler!" Branch yelled, and the spider started to run towards him. Gargamel, Azreal, and Monty ran out of the way, causing the spider to bump into walls and objects.

This caused him to drop us and we ran towards the ingredients. we placed them on the floor, which caused Crawler to trample over them, breaking them into pieces.

Gargamel looked at it in horror, then glanced at the spellbook pages.

"NO!" He yelled. "The spell said that it will only work if all the ingredients are in whole! What have you done?"

"You will never invade our dimension, Gargamel," Spruce said. "There are innocent trolls there, and they don't deserved to be hurt,"

"No, but those Smurfs do," Gargamel said. "They ruined my life. They annoyed me the most. If it weren't for them, I would've become the most powerful wizard in the land,"

"But in the process of hurting the girl smurfs and stealing their essence," I said. "You do realise where true power comes from, right?"

"Whatever," Gargamel said. "With or without trolls, soon I will find your village and destroy you forev-Argh!"

He stopped in mid sentence as Crawler chased him and his pets around the lair.

The trolls jumped off while he was moving.

"Come on," Poppy said. "Let's get out of here!"

We ran out of the lair, and as we do so, we hear Gargamel yell, "I hate them! I hate those Smurfs!"

We ran across the bridge, down the hill, and went through the forest toward the village.

"We did it," Hefty said. "We stopped Gargamel,"
