National Pup Race: A Skase Story

Chapter 1: The Call

"3. 2. 1. GO!"

All the pups ran as fast as they could, jumping over hurdles, running around cones. At this point the chocolate lab was in the lead with the cockapoo not far behind. She was the most agile of the bunch. They all continued their run around the lookout, lungs bursting for air. Zuma in the lead about to cross the finish line. But with him being as cocky as he was he slowed down not seeing Skye right behind him, she easily passed him winning the race.

"YEA WOO HOO" she yipped doing her signature back flip.

Meet Skye, she's the aviator pup. Her job requires her to fly in a helicopter to places most pups can't reach. She's also picked on every mission that involved looking for something or someone, after all her eyes in the sky could see almost everything. Despite loving the sky and clouds there was something she loved more, or someone should I say.

"Aww cmon Skye I almost had you!"

Meet Zuma, he's the water pup of the team. As the name suggests he specializes in water based rescues and search. But with that being said he also isn't the most used pup. He loves competing for things, like this race they just ran. The winner got extra pup treats. Despite his love for water he always had his eye out for another pup.

"I'm just glad it's over, I'm tired" the bulldog sighed falling over

Meet rubble, he's the construction pup, his job requires him to dig a lot or use his rig to move things. He loves to dig, he's also the youngest of the team! He was actually saved by the paw patrol and just happened to help in one of their missions. His love for pup treats is like no other, but his love for eating is bigger!

"Hey I almost had you Zuma!... if I didn't trip"

Meet marshal, he's the firefighting pup. As his job suggests he fights fires. But more importantly he uses his ladder to reach high up and bring people and animals down to safety. He loves watching Apollo the super pup with rubble. He's been known to be the more clumsy one on the team, causing wipeouts everytime the pups enter the lookout! He also has a loving girlfriend who just happened to be the husky!

"I probably would've won if marshal didn't trip me!"

Meet Rocky, the recycling pup. He is really good at using recycled items to fix things. His best friend funny enough is Zuma, despite Rocky HATING water they still have lots of fun. Rocky even sees him as smth more than a friend. But zuma doesn't know that.

"Guys you all did great jobs!" The husky said walking over.

Meet Everest, she's the snow pup. Which is actually perfect for her dog breed, she loves anything snow related. She normally is up in the mountains with Jake but this special occasion she was with the pups while Jake was out on business for the next few months. She didn't complain especially since she got to be with her favorite Dalmatian.

"EVEREST" the pups yelled, bombarding Everest with hugs and licks. "What are you doing here!" Skye asked not letting go of Everest. "Jake's gonna be out for the next few months so Ryder let me stay here!". Once all the pups let go the Dalmatian walked up to his husky. "Hi Everest!" He said kissing her cheek, "hi marshy" Everest replied kissing him back. Once they separated Everest looked around at all the pups with a confused look. "Where's Chase?" "He's training with Ryder!" Skye said wagging her tail. "Let's go see him" Zuma yelled excitedly, they all walked over to the beach where Chase said he and Ryder would be.

"Ready... set... GO!"

They heard Ryder countdown and saw the German shepherd race around multiple obstacles such as running inside tires, jumping through hoops, and over logs. They've never seen a pup run with such speed and accuracy, they watched as he easily maneuvered the obstacles. Then came the sharp turn, all the pups expected Chase to wipeout but no. He turned the corner perfectly and then ran the straight away with insane speed.  Once he ran by Ryder clicked his stop watch.
