CHAPTER FIFTEEN —
family is most important

YOU'RE GOING AWAY? FOR HOW LONG? ❞ Charlotte was on the phone with anthony. She was wondering why everyone was going away already, I mean the summer just started! But then again she wanted to leave this shitty town, away from karate as well.

"I don't know how long, my mom and dad got into a fight and she wants some time away from him." He told her, making her frown at the news. She knew how much it sucked when parents are arguing.

"Let me guess, karate?"

"Yup." Anthony nodded despite the fact she couldn't see him. He sighed, annoyed because the two had planned to hang out this week but that can't happen because of his parent's fight.

"Okay well, have fun Ant." She responded with a frown on her face. She played with the ends of her skirt. "I hope your mom and dad figure things out."

"Yeah me too. The faster they figure things out, the faster i get to see you." His comment made her face go warm, she grinned ear to ear. "I have to go now."

"Okay, text me later Ant." He mumbled a 'i will' and then hung up. Charlotte puts her phone down, staring at the wall but suddenly her door opened.

"Hey Lottie, do you have— what is this? You're red as a tomato." Adeline laughed at her sister. Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Did Anthony finally ask you out on a date?"

"Shut up Addie." Charlotte mumbled, glaring at her sister.

"Aww! He did! Little Lottie has a crush!" The younger blonde stood up, pushing her out of the room. "Hey, I need batteries—"

Charlotte sent her a sarcastic smile before closing the door in her face.

ANTHONY AND HIS FAMILY WALKS INTO A OLD SCHOOL RESTAURANT. He looks around in awe, seeing all the arcade games they had around here. He wondered why they didn't have those back at home.

"Oh, check it out! Vintage!" His aunt — Jessie — pointed, bringing him over so he could see. Two old guys were playing the game and he nodded.

"Right, they're remaking old stuff from the 80's." Anthony stated, watching them play with the game.

Jessie laughs. "Sweet, sweet boy." She patted his chest. "This is no remake. That's the original. Your mom used to play it for hours. Till she got into underage drinking."

Amanda sent her cousin a look. "She even had top score at one point. Who knows, maybe she might even still have it. Only way to find out is to get on that leaderboard."

"Okay, I'll go try it out. How hard can it be?" He sighed, stepping forward but then Jessie stops him.

"Woah now! I gotta ask some questions." She had a teasing smile on her face and immediately Anthony knew what she was going to add. "Any girls?"

Sam sent Anthony a knowing look with a small smirk, he rolled his eyes at the teasing but felt his face go warm when he thought of Charlotte.

"Oh? That silence and your red cheeks say it all." Jessie nudged Amanda, both of them laughing. "Who is it? Who's the lucky girl, Anthony?"

"Well it's more like me who's lucky." He answered, still thinking about Charlotte. "I mean, we're not dating or anything but I like her. She's amazing, she's smart, she has the kindest heart ever."

Amanda smiled, Anthony never really had told any of them of his past crushes. This girl was the first. And the way he talked about her felt like you were in a movie. Anthony could go on and on about her, let's just say Charlotte is the only thing he couldn't stop talking about.
