Mals pov-
I groan as I wake up; I shift and stretch, feeling my wings shift and twitch as well; I sigh as Evie walks in from the bathroom already up.
"E. Why didn't you wake me up?"
"Cause I wanted you to sleep...." Evie says a bit nervously
"Mhm. Sure" I say as I get dressed.
Soon, Carlos and Jay walk in, and I cast a glamour spell. I've been getting acclimated to using magic, but it's still hard... I looked at my back. My mother was one of the few kind parents on the Isle, so sure, she faked a lot of the interactions with me... but in the end, I did know she loved me..... and she had even told me of her beastie. I was lucky..... mom could have easily found iron and loped them off...though they might've regrown due to my demigod status. I'm not entirely sure. She did her best to help other kids in secret.
I sigh. Today is going to be long.
Little do I know how right I am.
