Chapter 5: Behind You

Late that night at Fort Chicken Elementary, Matthew got done cleaning his face off from the blood that got on him.

He heard the door open, revealing Sabrina, as she asked. "Hey. Can I get you anything?"

"I'd really rather be left alone, Sabrina." Matthew told Sabrina as he looked away from her.

"Matt, can we please talk?" Sabrina asked Matthew again.

"I don't want to talk." Matthew stated to her.

"I know you don't, but I do." Sabrina replied to Matthew.

Matthew finally looked at Sabrina as he snarled. "Then why don't you talk to your new boyfriend about it?"

Sabrina was taken back at that as Matthew was talking about Clint as she explained. "Clint and I went to school together. I haven't seen him in 15 years."

"I walked in this morning, guy was fuckin' hittin' on you, and YOU WERE EATING IT UP!" Matthew explained to Sabrina as he yelled at the last part.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" Sabrina asked while yelling.

"NO, I'M NOT KIDDIN' YOU, SABRINA. YOU CAN'T EVEN DENY IT. DENY IT." Matthew stated to her while yelling as well.

Sabrina's eyes looked down for a moment as she replied. "Clint and I were just talking and I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. I didn't mean to."

Matthew scoffed in disbelief as Sabrina continued. "Look, I'm sorry. But I know neither of us thought this was how the day was gonna go when we woke up this morning."

"No. No, we didn't. I thought today was gonna go way different than this. You have no idea. I bought you a ring yesterday, Sabrina," Matthew explained to her as Sabrina was in awe after hearing what he said at the end before he continued. "And then I walk in and I see you laughing and smiling at that little asshole. And you know what I thought? I thought, wow, she looks so pretty when she smiles. How come she never smiles at me like that?"

Sabrina didn't know what to say as she saw Matthew almost about to shed some tears before Matthew told her. "I'll talk to you later, Sabrina."

Sabrina nodded her head as she left Matthew alone as Matthew was now shedding tears. Suddenly, everyone heard something crash somewhere in the school.

Around the same time in the school, four large crates were shown as they were the things that crashed in the school and an unknown figure walked over and stood by the large crates.

Around the same time at The Ark facility, Mac walked over to his team after they huddled up in a circle as Sarge spoke. "We're going back into the Olduvai lab."

Portman put in his earpiece as he asked. "We're not calling in backup?"

Sarge looked at Portman with a serious look as he stated. "The hangar door is sealed. Nothing comes in or out until everything in this facility is dead. We're going in hot."

"You're serious." Portman spoke in disbelief.

"Pick up your weapon, Portman." John told Portman.

"Come on, Portman, move out." Destroyer told Portman as well.

"Didn't y'all see how that thing greased Goat," Portman asked the others before he explained. "We don't know what we're dealing with here. It's SOP to call in reinforcements when a situation--"

"We are... the reinforcements!" Sarge cut off Portman and stated.

Portman shook his head as Sarge walked up to Portman and told him. "Now, you shoulder your fucking weapon, soldier."
