Calvin: It's over, everything is over.

Calvin Kant was put on the position of Duke of the northern region and was planning on an arraganged marriage with his daughter Edith Kant, he also sent a force to reinforce the king's city over the panic of Timothy, if that force had already engaged the first army, it could mean that they started a rebellion

While Calvin was panicking Edith walked in

Edith: What happened? Father? What happened?

Edith: What happened? Father? What happened?

Calvin: Edith! My child! Our Kant family is about to encounter a catastrophe! Because his majesty Timothy lost to Roland, this means we will also...

Edith it is trying to understand how Roland won, but she knew it was inevitable

Edith: Now you understand why I didn't agree to marry Timothy?

Calvin: You knew that he would end up like this?

Edith: You mean he dying from an explosion drop from the sky? No, I didn't expect that. I just felt he was not the right person.

Calvin: Not the right person... Who is the right person is for you? Though his reign turned out to be quite short, he was still the king of the kingdom of Graycastle at that time! Even such a person is not suitable, what kind of person you want to marry?

Edith:*dodging the question* Anyway, first, you have the order the army to retreat.

Calvin: But they've been out for 4 days, and I've no idea which route they took. I'm afraid it's too late.

Edith: That's not a problem, you can send someone to deepvalley town today. If he sets out from here, he'll arrive at the town by evening, he can take a boat to the capital and reach it at least one day before the army. No matter which route the army tool, they'll end up on the main road leading to the city's north gate, so if the one you send walks in the opposite direction to the army, he'll meet and stop them in the suburbs of the king's city.

Calvin: I see. I'll write a letter now! No, I'll send out a guard with my keepsake to deliver the command! Guard!

The guard immedietly goes to the Calvin's command

Edith: Father, do you think we can withsand prince Roland's attack?

Calvin: With that kind of power, I don't think we can.

Edith: So, it's not enough just to withdraw the army. Don't forget that it was Timothy who made you a duke. It's natural for prince Roland to consider us his enemies and it's just a matter of time for him to destroy us. Even if he doesn't come now, he can still come later. Therefore, if we want the family to continue, under such circumstances, we have to be more proactive.

Calvin: You mean that I should swing to prince Roland? But why should he trust me?

Edith: Show your sincerity.

A few hours later, Calvin invited every nobleman in the Northern region

Calvin: I brought all of you here tonight because I wanted to listen to everyone's opinion. This matter is important to the future of the Northern region and we can't be too careful...

Noble 1: Why don't we send a spy to eavesdrop on prince Roland?

Another noble says as long as he doesn't mess with the northern region they might as well endorce him, but a third noble fights back saying they could be arrested for treason because they didn't actively went against Timothy, other nobles want Roland dead and plan to actively fight on the mountains and other though terrain, and one even insults Kant himself, saying that he'll always choose the the one who is in power, not mattering who he is before trying to leave

Noble 2 (The one who was about to leave): By the way, if you want prince Roland to spare your pathetic life, you may offer Edith, all tied up, to him.

Cole: You dare to humiliate my sister...

Calvin: Stop!

Noble 2: Haha, as long as miss pearl of the northern region goes out, that is, no matter who is on the throne, miss edith will be the queen. I've heard that he highly appreciates beauty...

Then Edith stabs him in the heart

Edith: Are you talking about me, Sir Snow Fox? I can't pretend that I didn't hear what you said.

Edith then walks in, this clearly was a set up to kill anyone who would try to resist Roland unifying Graycastle on the northern region, considering traitors

Even though there was resistance, Edith kill all the traitors with only a few struggles

Edith: It's over, Lord Ed.

Even Calvin was shocked on her daughters skills

Calvin: Earl Lista and Earl Howes conspired against king Wimbledon and have been duly punished. Right now, you all have a choice. Do you all want to server these two corpses or the new king?

The soldiers of the nobles all surrender

Later

Calvin: So, it's settled? Will his Majesty Roland Wimbledon accept us?

Edith: You were calling him a rebel king yesterday, are you going to pledge homage to him so soon?

Calvin: Wasn't this what you said? Since we can't beat him, we may as well surrender earlier. If we don't win his turst, the nobles will hate us too!

Edith: To be honest, I don't know if we can. All we can do is to display our sincerity, but ultimately it'll be prince Roland who decides the fate of the northenr region. You should know this, dad, there's a chance he'll send his own people to take over nothern region, and it won't  be suprising if your rank is lowered. But I know that if we don't try, our Kant family won't have a chance to survive. compared to the doomed destruction, we are at least still likely to continue.

Calvin is suprised about his daughter's knowledge on these matter

Edith: Don't lose heart, dad. You still have much work to do tomorrow. We'll seize the mansions and fiefs of the two earls. Besides, the outcome of this matter will heavily depend on the level of competence we display to his majesty, sincerity is our ticket into negotiation, but ability is what will decide the outcome of the negotiation.

Calvin: What do you mean?

Edith: I'll bring these two heads to the capital, dad. Please let me be your messenger to his majesty.

(End of chapter, forward chapters 303 and 304, I know this chapter has nothing with Roland himself and much less the 203rd, but I still hope you enjoyed it, this is actually the introduction to one of my favourite characters, anyways goodbye and until the next chapter)
