I was born into a rich family that controlled my each movement and thought. It was hard for me to live here. That's why i planned to escape tonight.
It was currently midnight, i had all my important things packed in my backpack. I knew it would be difficult to walk past the guards without them noticing me but It's worth the try.
I was hiding behind a bush, trying my hardest not breath heavily. The guards were quietly chatting, it lead me to a good idea of throwing a rock somewhere to get their attention.
The guards heard a rock falling near them and they look around alerted. I threw another rock more further. One of them when to look through the other side while the other was going through the side i was at. I went around the bush and sprinted, my heart racing out of fear.
I heard yells and the dogs barking, as i look back while running a catch of glimpse of them running my direction before i only see darkness. I fell into a hole.
I scrunched my face in pain and groan. Luckily it wasn't a deep hole where i would've for sure broken my legs. As my vision gets somewhat used to the dark, i look around, only seeing some spots because of the moonlight shining through the hole. I hear the voices getting closer which made me panic. I am scared of the dark but if it means not getting caught I'll remove that fear from now.
I go more in the cave i fell in and found a wall to hold onto, i put my back to the wall and slid down the sit on the ground, sighing in relief.
It was pitch dark and the fear started to kick in. I was starting to feel my organs in my throat, my hands were sweating.
I took my backpack off and although i didn't see anything my mission was to find the flashlight i took. After some digging around i finally felt the familiar figure of a flashlight.
I took it out and turned it on, it blinded my eyes for a bit but i got used to it after some seconds. I looked around. The stone walls filled with moss. I decided to explore the cave more until i saw something sparkle. I went closer to it and my flashlight started to flicker.
I punch the flashlight in my palm for it to work properly again. It started working once more and i continued to follow the path of the sparkling crystals. I soon reached a place where there was a pond, full of crystals and space. There were plants hanging from the ceiling and walls. I looked at the sight in awe.
I was about to go touch the water when i heard footsteps. My body froze and when i heard them getting closer i bolted back from the direction i came accidentally dropping my flashlight along the way.
I was out of breath, hugging my legs and trying to calm my heartbeat. I thought i finally got away from the sounds until i saw light shining. The person or thing that i was running away from probably found my flashlight.
I close my eyes tightly, hugging my legs even more and trying to breathe quietly. I saw the light being shone in my face and i froze. I felt like i was about to die anytime soon.
The presence felt closer, i felt it crouch in front of me. I didn't dare to open my eyes. Soon i felt a hand on my head which made me flinch. He started to pat it.
"I'm not going to do anything, cutie." He said
His voice was deep, somewhat soothing. Yet i still didn't want to open my eyes out of fear.
After some seconds the hand moved away from my head and he chuckled. It made me curious so i slightly opened one eye. He seemed to notice and started waving. Which made me open both of my eyes.
I looked at him, he seemed like he had many tattoos on his upper arm with thick lines with some triangles , i wonder if there's a meaning? He wore a tanktop and black cargo pants. I looked at his face, his eyes somewhat glowed which confused me but it was probably from the flashlight. Nevertheless he looked hot.
"I'm Jisung by the way." He said standing up and putting out his hand for me to reach
I hesitantly took it. His hands felt warm and comfortable.
"Chenle." I said quietly while looking at anywhere but him
I felt my heart drop once more when the flashlight turned off.
"Oh what." He said punching the flashlight and clicking the button
That stupid battery i told myself. My fear was going back up even more. My hands were shaking. I don't even know what this person what doing here. What if he kills me?! What if he works for my parents and came looking for me??
I had my eyes closed once more, i hugged myself and my breathing was unsteady. He seemed to notice and patted my shoulder and hugged me. It surprised me and caught me off guard.
Soon i saw light which made me open my eyes. He releases from the hug and i see those tattoos' glowing, so were his eyes just less.
I looked at him in confusion and awe, with a hint of fear. He smiled and grabbed my hand. And lead me back to the lake. He let go of my hand and sat down on the ledge putting his feet in the water. He looked up at me and patted a spot next to him. I sit down a but further away from him. He pouts and scoots closer to me.
After some silence which was surprisingly comfortable. Jisung spoke taking my hand in his :
"I don't know why you're in the cave, but since you're scared of the dark I'll be your light."
