So this is my new story. It came to me when I was sitting in Geometry class. Tell me what you think and if I should continue writing it. Warning: GIRLxGIRL
Chapter One
Arabella stared into cold ice blue eyes, the eyes of her sister's enemy, and knew it was over. That this was the end. She knew that the face she was looking at would be the last she'd ever see. Tears gathered in her eyes and she lowered her gaze to the dagger hovering over her heart, the tip of the blade ghosting over her skin. Looking back into emotionless blue, she smiled sadly, a deep and hidden pain in her eyes.
"Do it. You'll be doing everyone a favor." she said, her voice even and soft, melodic, despite the emotional turmoil she felt.
An eyebrow was raised in surprise. "How, exactly, would I be doing everyone a favor?"
"I'll be dead. The Unwanted Princess will be gone forever." a hysterical sob escaped her throat before she could stop it.
More pressure was put on the dagger and Arabella winced as the tip pierced her skin. Blood slowly oozed out of the small cut, the red drops bright against her pale skin, and Arabella felt a spark of hope fill her. Blue eyes watched her. Watched as she took a shuddering breath and lowered her head.
"Please. Set me free."
The dagger was suddenly gone and a sigh of frustration was heard. A choked sob escaped Arabella and the tears fell free.
"Please! I can't take it anymore!" Arabella looked into blue eyes again. "Please Lexiannah." Her voice was barely a whisper, a soft plead.
Lexiannah stared at the broken girl in front of her. The girl she had always admired from afar. Tears flowed down Arabella's face, each one like a knife to Lexiannah's gut. Arabella was innocent, had yet to see life at its fullest. She realized theb that she couldn't do it. She pulled the girl into her arms, holding her.
"I can't kill you Arabella."
"Why?! Why won't anyone release me from my pain?! Am I that much of a disgrace?!"
Lexiannah didn't answer. Couldn't answer. Instead she rocked the young princess in her arms, holding her tightly. Arabella wrenched herself out of Lexiannah's arms and took off into the trees, desperation running through her body. Lexiannah quickly followed her, a sense of foreboding creeping into her. She easily caught up to the other girl, but with a start realized that they were on Lily's Cliff. A cliff where a great battle between the Veela and the Elves took place. A cliff where many had jumped to their deaths. A cliff that symbolized death to many. Dread hit Lexiannah and she slowly approached Arabella, who had turned to face her. Arabella gave her a broken smile. It spoke of torment and agony, a shattered spirit.
"I'll just have to end it myself." she whispered and spread her arms out.
Lexiannah stared, as if in a trace. Never before had Arabella looked so beautiful. Her silver hair swayed wildly in the wind and her dark purple eyes glistened with tears and sadness, yet a spark of hope lie in them. Hope that she might finally be free from the hate, pain, and torment. The cruelity of her life. Her pale skin glistened in the sunlight and her black and white dress made her look like the princess she was. Lexiannah knew then and there that didn't want this shattered soul to die. She wanted to pick up the pieces and make her whole again. She wanted to protect her from those who hated her. Those who hurt her. She'd kill them if they ever tried to hurt her again.
Lexiannah took another step toward Arabella, determination coursing through her.
"Arabella," she said, looking directly into purple eyes, "Don't jump."
"Who's going to stop me? Who's going to save me?"
Lexiannah hesitated, but the second to long silence was all Arabella needed. She smiled brokenly again, leaning back- and fell.
"NO!"
Lexiannah rushed forward and looked over the cliff's edge to see Arabella plummeting down to the rocks and water. Without anymore hesitation, Lexiannah jumped. Large black wings burst from her back and she dived after the elf princess. Once she was in reach she grabbed Arabella, pulling her into her arms. She hovered in the air, her wings beating in a soft rhythm, a foot above the water. She shifted Arabella before taking off into the sky.
"I'll save you." she whispered to the now unconscious girl.
It not only was a promise, but a vow she fully intended to keep.
