Chapter 5: It's not going to be easy

The Spirits knew well that other characters knew about the promise now, but did they do anything about it? No. Not at all. Words were spreading fast, and not everyone understood, though. Only a few of them knew what happened, there was a problem, that was: almost nobody trusted them. Everyone just thought they were seeing things, 'Beep' and 'Bleh' were catching on. But 'Iance' and 'The Losers' were more hesitant, they just thought that Bubble and Cake just had hallucinations, most likely because their current mental status was, well, quite unstable.

At least Fanny believed bubble, Fanny only had her trio friend group. That was the only thing she cared about. Everyone says that in trios there is always a duo, but that wasn't the case for this group. They cared for each other, they were inseparable. Back to the point, there were around five characters that knew about this. Barley any of them knew each other too. How were they supposed to even do anything to help them? Over half of them had BIG disabilities, either they were easily killed or armless. They didn't even know they knew about the promise, except Fanny and Bubble. Bubble showed her theory she drew in her notebook to Fanny. Little did these five know, The Spirits were watching their every move, even if it wasn't about the promise. They had many tricks up their sleeve.

It's not going to be easy, in fact, the complete opposite. It's going to be like a living hell for them. If they even just speak about it to anyone, they will get dizzy and in the worst cases even pass out. There was one exception, Bubble. She was assumed to be the most fragile and unstable, mentally and physically. The Spirits would spare her of this torment, but instead hurt the others around her. Specifically Lightning, The Spirits did have control of him after all.

Day by day, the headaches hurt more and more. Becoming almost unbearable. Even with the painkillers, it still hurt. A lot, too. The elements stayed in their room for most of their days, they only left if it was eating time or someone called. Who could blame them though? But, a lot of their teammates did, they called them lazy, attention-seeking, fakers, and more. Their lives were hard enough to begin with. Not to mention the headaches. Now this? Being called rude names wasn't the worst, but it ruined their self-esteem.

Imagine you risk your life for the world, have terrible headaches every day, have a horrible mental status and self-esteem, and have a chance of death or worse lingering above your head every single nanosecond, just to be called impertinent names all the time. That's what it was like for the elements. Hard life right? It would only get worse from here.

Lightning had the worst headaches so far because The Spirits knew that Fanny and Bubble knew about the "nightmare". He woke up to a dreadful headache every single morning, barely having enough energy to get off his bed. He didn't even want to get off, he knew as soon as he just simply got out of his room, it would be a living hell for him. There was nothing he could do about it too! He wished that his team would understand his current mortifying pain and help him out with it. But that might just stay in his head...

---

Leafy and Firey's rooms were directly next to each other, there was even a connecting doorway that connected both of their rooms. It was nice knowing that someone is going through the same pain as you, physically or mentally. It didn't matter to them. As long as they could hear each other, they would instantly be calmed down. But that was nothing compared to their horrific headaches. Cake's room coincidentally was next to Leafy's. He could hear their screams, all night long. It was annoying but he understood why they were screaming. He found out the truth during their latest call.

None of the elements had enough energy to even stand or fly anymore. Cake knew this after listening in on their calls and how Leafy was screaming in pain almost all the time. He wanted to help out, so he grabbed a glass and ( tried to ) pour a glass of water. It wasn't for him but for Leafy. He knew that she was going through a really hard time right now.

[ A few minutes later ]

Cake had tried multiple times to pour a full-ish glass of water for Leafy. He slowly but steadily hopped on one leg, as his other was holding the glass cup. It was difficult but worth it.

Finally, Cake had hopped his way to Leafy's door. The chocolate cake put down the glass of water and slowly knocked on the door.

The lemon leafy responded, "Ugh...What do you want? If you need me for anything find me in the evening when I'm feeling better... My head seriously hurts, please leave. I don't mean to hurt you or anything, just please leave me alone..."

Cake stammered, "I-I-I didn't know that.." He bluntly lied, but he continued with his goal, " I got you a glass of water. You haven't come out of your room in ages, so I tried to do something nice."

Leafy opened her door slowly, she was tired and very stressed. The lemon leaf grabbed the glass of water and took a sip out of it, before slowly closing her door shut.

Cake was happy he was able to do something nice for once, and Leafy did end up saying " Thank you, Cake " in 'The Losers' group chat. She couldn't bear to talk, it was too tiring and painful for her. The last thing she did before noon ( When the headaches would USUALLY stop) was call the elements on her cell phone.
