Third-person pov;

Soft pants escaped his lips as he biked his way down the mountain, his hair swaying back and forth with the cold breeze hitting his skin. The sky was almost pitch black, but he was used to waking up early before dawn to set off while everyone was asleep and comfy in their beds.

Today's trip down the mountain was rather different, he had to carry two heavy bags on his shoulders and in the basket behind him to take them to the new apartment he bought with the help of his mother's work money whom he promised to pay back as soon as he gets a job.

Their father died when Shouyou was at a young age of Thirteen due to a car crash, he was a problematic parent when compared to Shouyou's mother. Always picking fights with his family-especially Shouyou who always had to deal with his drunk act whenever he came back from school or outside since his mom works at late hours in a nearby shop.

Shouyou's mother always made sure to take care of her children after their Father died, doing small acts such as reminding Shouyou not to be out at night when the boars are out and telling Natsu not to bother him when he is studying-which is such a rare event. Natsu loves spending time with her brother when they were kids, usually asking him to play jump rope with him or sleeping in the same room on a separate mattress though.

He didn't live the best life, yet he doesn't complain about it.

Shouyou's past, no matter how bad it was, does not define his future. The choices and actions he makes in the present will ultimately define who he will eventually become in the future

He believes that whatever happens, happens for a reason; whether it's a good or a bad reason. though, human emotions can't always be controlled.

Today is his 5th day in MSBY Black Jackals volleyball team, he was now an official member of the team with jersey #21. Which he chose the number based off his birthdate, Shouyou got along with the team members well-well except for Sakusa who views him as a walking shrimp-germ as a joke-he was happy to meet Bakuto and Atsumu who greeted him warmly.

There was something that lingered in the back of his mind, a memory from high school that he could never quite forget. The day they had a match against Inarizaki, Atsumu Miya; an opponent across the court, had blurted out the words "I'm gonna be setting to you one day." He had replayed that moment countless times, wondering what Atsumu had seen in him that day. Why him? He wasn't that famous back then, so why would he say such thing as that?

'But...even though he wants to set for me, I am always unable to match his tosses.'

Of course, with new experiences; comes new problems and for Shouyou, it was syncing himself with a new setter that he barely even knew. All he knows about Atsumu is that he was recognized as the number One high school setter as well as receiving the Best Server award during middle school and the Inter-high.

He truly was something mesmerising, so playing with him on the same team was a blessing to the ginger.

'Maybe I am not training hard enough.' There he goes again, shouldering all the blame instead of trying to figure out how it started. This was nothing new for Shouyou, no one thought he would be something big. But as long as he is alive, he promised himself to prove them all wrong.

No one had ever really believed that he could be something extraordinary, and deep down, Shouyou knew that. He'd heard it all before: he was too short, too impulsive, too dependent and too naive to make it in the world of professional volleyball. But he had made himself a promise a long time ago, one that he intended to keep no matter how difficult the road ahead became.

He had a dream that is possible to turn into reality.

Now, he was one step closer.

'Am I getting any closer from the train station?'
