Azaizel the 3rd demon lord to have ever been born into the world of Triufhe was a being feared by the strong, respected by the wise and envied by the foolish. Azaizel who had come out of nowhere with power said to be able to challenge even the gods seized the throne with bloodshed and wisdom. With Azaizel's might his predecessor the 2nd demon lord was dethroned in a matter of months after Azaizel's birth, with his wisdom the demon continent was put under his rule in a matter of weeks after taking the throne and with his authority he stabilised the continent to function like any normal kingdom in a matter of days of its stabilisation.

The word had spread far and fear had gripped the hearts of many when Azaizel had declared war on all the races. The first to fall under him was the fairy forest continent that boasted the strongest magic. Next were the elven labyrinths that boasted the  most impenetrable defenses. Then the dragon continent which was said to boast might that could serve under the gods. Finally the dwarves who boasted the strongest of craft and the human who boasted the wisest civilisations.

However no mistake was to be made as Azaizel knew that without their division he could not have taken the world and thus Azaizel was crown the first ever demon lord to rule all continents. However the monstrous lord never desired the throne of power but rather he made a bargain with the world former rulers. He would not encroach on them if the stopped their pointless wars and destroyed all forms of otherworldly summoning magic.

A rule like no other came to be as in a century long piece only a handful of wars had been fought but quickly ended with the intervention of the demon lord. Though none could grasp the demon lords true intentions or why he let the world flourish they had already begun to speculate. The wise had theorised the ancient demon bad grown tired of war, the strong had thought he bore compassion for those weaker than him and the foolish had only envy as a throne of such magnitude could only grunt them power however none were foolish enough to try. That was the case until now as a continent to the east housed the settlements human kingdoms both old and new reigns.

Within a small nation at the center of the continent sat the kingdom on Lunphia the birth place of our journey. With the kingdom, beneath the magnificent castle lay a secret that only those of royal blood knew. A labyrinth of ancient built by the first king and used by every king after to store their most valued treasure. Within the labyrinth now stood the greedy King Gorthok of Lunphia, adorned in gaudy jewels, stood amidst the damp, dimly lit labyrinth, his beady eyes gleamed with desperation. His once-loyal subjects now whispered of rebellion, and the kingdom teetered on the brink of chaos.

As he paced, his short legs waddling beneath his opulent robes, Gorthok's mind raced with schemes to reclaim his fading grip on power. He had squandered Lunphia's riches, plundering its resources to fuel his own excesses. Now with a damned kingdom and nobles who had turned him away the king needed something to help reclaim his power. A faint rustling echoed through the tunnels, and a hooded figure emerged from the shadows.

"Your Majesty," the mysterious visitor began, "I possess knowledge of a ancient artifact, hidden deep within these caverns. A relic left by the first king rumored to grant unimaginable power..."

Gorthok's ears perked up, his interest piqued. "Speak on," he commanded, his voice dripping with avarice. The hooded figure revealed a cryptic map, etched on a tattered parchment.

"Follow this path, and the artifact shall be yours. But beware, Your Majesty, for others also seek this treasure, and they will stop at nothing to claim it."

Gorthok's eyes gleamed with an insatiable hunger the man who stood next to the king also seemed to perk at the information. Cardinal Ravenswood, his eyes aglow with avarice, smiled in tandem with King Gorthok. His own fate was inextricably linked to the monarch's, as the Church hierarchy had grown weary of his corrupt ways. Ravenswood's removal from his esteemed position was all but certain, unless he could secure a powerful ally.
