Jae called her mom and was on the way to the hospice center. She had to prepare for the worst because she had seen death and knew how bad it looked, hearing the news about her mother made her regret going no contact at least with her but her father could rot in hell for all she cared everything in her life was falling apart since she met Ka'moni and regretted even giving him a chance. Shit was so messed up and she wanted to be happy without needing a man, the only thing going right in her life was her business
"Lord help me" She mumbled as she parked her car and pulled her shirt over her stomach, and got out walking into the building. The energy in that building was heavy and it reeked of death and sadness she felt like she couldn't breathe and instantly felt sick.
"Hey are you here to see some one?" The receptionist asked with a bashful smile on her face. What the fuck was there to smile about? working around death had to be exhausting but everyone was different.
"Yes my mother Adiana Carter" Jae replied and the receptionist nodded as she typed something into the computer and a few seconds later she looked up.
"She's on the fourth floor in room 579 would you like some one to walk with you?" She asked
"It's fine thank you" Jae said and walked to the elevator. Her mind was all over the place and she couldn't get Ka'moni out of her head no matter how hard she tried she could never forget him.
Once the elevator reached the floor the energy was even heavier she could barely even think straight as she walked towards her mothers room
"Adiana?" Jae called out and turned on the light she gasped as she saw her mother, her dark skin was ashy and she looked like she under a hundred pounds. The putrid smell almost made her throw up she could tell they hadn't changed her bed pad or even bathed her in days
"Janae? oh baby!" Adiana said weakly as she looked at Jae she gained some strength and sat up
"I see your father got you to come" Adiana said and Jae nodded
