JADE

DREAM

The sun filtered through the trees, and I welcomed the warmth that caressed my face. I heard the soft sounds of paws heading towards me and a smile spread across my face. I could feel Callisto perk up in my mind and as I looked in on her, I see the emerald eyes of my beautiful counterpart. She smiles at me as she prances around in our shared mind. Swishing her tail back and forth as we hear the paws closing in on us, knowing our mate was nearby. I rolled towards the direction of the running paws and waited for my mate to arrive. A moment later his amazing form emerged from the forest into the little clearing we had found ages ago. A wolfy smile graced his features, as he greeted me. I stood and made my way to his extremely large black wolf, scratching behind his ears eliciting a rumbling purr from his chest. Running my hands down his body enjoying the softness of his fur. I felt his breath on my ear, as he placed his muzzle in my neck breathing in my scent. When I turn to face him, I am meet with his stunning electric blue eyes, filled with love and mischievousness. He then padded away and began to shift to his human form. Slowly as his body shimmered and morphed: his black fur slowly retracted into toned and tanned skin. Tall and handsome as ever with such a cute, very nude butt, my mate turned to look at me his eyebrows quirked up in humor. His still electric blue eyes smile with the knowledge I was checking out his hind quarters. I feel my cheeks warm as I know a blush has spread across them. I hear his chuckle and am swept up into his arms. He pulls me close and rests his forehead against mine. The power of his embrace enough to calm my racing heart. I was so nervous to share this news. His lips found mine and my whole body shivered. As we broke apart to breathe deeply, the sound of approaching paws reached my ears. My mate instantly put me down, swiping his arm to bring me around so his body was in front of mine. It took a few seconds, before he relaxed. Soon enough a wolf emerged from the tree line and I instantly recognized his Beta. As I watched my mate communicate with his Beta via mind link, my mind drifted off to the news I had to share with my mate, and how it was clearly going to have to wait. Soon apologetic eyes were on me; I knew it was his responsibility and that he had to go. I frowned, and he wrapped his arms around me soothing my sadness. He nuzzled his face into my neck where the intricate pattern of his mark lay upon my skin. His deep voice floated into my mind; I will see you soon my love. And he was off, shifting as he ran.

I jerked up from the ground panting, my eyes scanning the surroundings looking for him. It took me a moment to realize I was in the forest with my friends. I looked around the camp and found the watchful eyes of Fern.

"That is the first time you have dream here? Was it the same one?" she asked in her unique way. Fern was such a strange spirit, she was odd, very blunt and did not speak much. Her wings were black, showing this was her last life with the Fae. I was still a little rattled and simply shook my head.

"When everyone is awake." Was all I said, she nodded and returned her focus to the forest as she resumed her watch. I looked for the sun in the sky and saw it was getting low, we had spent the entire day sleeping after our ordeal with the vampire - creatures. I don't think sleep wouldreturn to me, so I stood and stretched my sore body from sleeping on the forest floor. I decided to go hunting again as we needed to start for the mountain again, and food is fuel. I let Fern know that I was going hunting, I shifted into Callisto, and she instantly darted off into the darkening forest.

"Cal, that was another memory huh?"

"Yes, yes it was."

"Why now, does it have to do with being in our home realm?"

"I don't know Jade. I can only guess that knowing this past is valuable."

Suddenly she took full control pushing me to the back of our shared mind, I was taken aback as she has never taken over forcefully. Her pace quickened, as she weaved through the trees clearly no longer looking for something to eat now.

"Cal what the hell? Cal? What are you doing? Where are you going?" I bellowed at her as I tried to regain some control, though she had a firm hold on it.

"I have to go this way, please just let me go this way." Callisto pleaded with me. The sound in her voice was strange. I could not place the emotion, but she was so determined. I was unsure of what to do.

"Cal, I don't know if now, is the time to be going off on our own just because you feel like it. We were attacked last night, that one vampire - creature escaped Enzo! What if it is out here waiting for a chance like this!" I ranted at her. Yet her pace did not slow.

"Callisto! Seriously you are putting all of us in jeopardy!" I shouted. At this she slowed her pace a bit, but never stopping. She shook her head and slowed further only to pace around in a circle.

"I'm sorry Jade, I do not want to put anyone at risk, but it's like I am being pulled, I have to go that way." She said with a touch of sadness to her voice. I was shocked. She has never been sullen before, suddenly I felt like I was taking something away from her.

"Cal, it's just, we don't know anything. We are still so far from the mountain, and with the attack. We just have to stay focused; we have to protect our family." I told her softly. She stopped pacing and faced the direction she was running a whine coming from her. I could feel her need to follow her instincts, and it was so intense I could not stand making her feel this way.

"Cal, if we follow this feeling of yours you have to do it smart, not just barreling through the unknown forest! Plus, the longer we are away from camp, the more they will start to worry. How much farther do you think we need to go." She perked right up and sat down. She lifted her nose to the air and breathed deeply.

"I'm not sure, but I feel like we are close." She replied. I could hear the hope and excitement in her spark to life.

"Okay, Cal, but you have to be smart, keep our senses open and not allow ourselves to be trapped or attacked." I conceded to her need to follow this feeling, knowing it was probably a dangerous idea.
