Home, Tallahassee Fl
9:15 A.M.I was in the comfort of my black 2020 Benz making my way down the streets of downtown Tallahassee on the way to my house to finish packing.
It was bittersweet because I really loved my home, and living here in Tallahassee.
But I was so excited about the fact I got the opportunity to become a NBA reporter for one of the teams in just one month.
My internship with ESPN went really well this summer, The reporters I worked under felt like I was more than ready to get started.
The only thing I was nervous about was what team would I be getting assigned to work for. And I actually would be finding that out some time today.
INCOMING CALL
: John Greene
NBA"Damn that was fast." I say to myself before answering the phone to hear what my boss had to say.
"Hello Nylah, I would like to inform you that the team you'll be working for will be the Memphis Grizzlies. Although we did try to find a team closer to where you currently reside; We thoroughly believe your professionalism would be a great asset to the Grizzlies which is why it was the choice." Oh no.
"Thank you Mr. Greene for this opportunity, I greatly appreciate it and I can't wait for this season!" I say to him before we close out the conversation and hung up.
Hearing that I'll be moving to Memphis in a few weeks definitely took me by surprise. Nothing but flashbacks from the Miami trip popped up in my head.
I haven't seen or heard from Ja since that night at the hotel. I couldn't believe I was now about to be working with him every other day.
And did I mention literally the night we kissed that Brooklyn girl posted a picture of them together. And the bitch was wearing the robe I had on! Hell nah.
After seeing it I blocked him on everything I could. I didn't really care if he was ever going to reach out or not, I did it because I felt disrespected because it never gave side bitch.
The girls also blocked him too and left the group chat he had made with him which made me laugh. One thing about it and two things for sure they gone ride for me!
Immediately I pull out my phone and click on me and Wyn's text thread and send a simple "code red" text message.
I knew she would either call back immediately or come over later on considering she was in town for a meeting. About 10 minutes later, I hear a loud knock. I almost die laughing as I open the door to a panting almost out of breath Wynter.
"I was at Waffle House picking up my order and saw your text, I grabbed my food and got here as fast as I could!!" Wynter yelled.
We were like this for each other. Whenever one of us was in need, the other was quick to be there no hesitation, no matter the distance.
"And girl how long have these roses been sitting out here ?" "And when did you get a new man ?"
Confused at the questions being asked I walk out the door to a beautiful bouquet that had to have just been delivered before Wynter arrived.
