"Why does he need Chase so bad, I mean yeah he's a fine doctor, but it would be a lie to say he had the most diagnoses." Foreman uttered as the three of you paced down the hospital hallway, with you occasionally moving out of the way to avoid patients on stretchers. "Don't..tell him I said that."
"My lips are sealed." Cameron uttered. They paused, waiting for you to also chime in, swearing your secrecy. You looked over at them blankly, then realizing what they had been saying you replied.
"Huh-? Oh uhm, yes I also swear." You stammered.
"Is something..on your mind?" Cameron asked you softly. "You seem a bit distracted." Everyone could sense something was on your mind, you definitely needed to work on your poker face.
"Mm-no. Well yes. But also no-." You stammered.
"Okay..." She responded, as you guys continued walking. Nobody said anything after that. And when the three of you entered the lobby, you saw your coworker in the middle of a conversation with Cuddy.
"What do you think that's about?" You whispered to the other two.
"No idea." Foreman responded. Cameron was watching the conversation intently. After a couple minutes you broke off from them, and walked up to Chase and Cuddy.
"Hello, sorry to interrupt but is there any way we could reschedule this riveting dialogue until after our patient is cured?" You stated. Cuddy raised an eyebrow at you, but then turned to Chase.
"That's fine." She said turning away. "Tell House I need to talk to him."
"Will do." Chase replied. "So, how's the patient?"
"Like you care. What the hell was that?" Foreman said, appearing at your side.
"I do care. And none of your business." He stated, as you all walked back towards the elevator.
"I think you having a secretive conversation with the woman who controls our paychecks is our business." Foreman replied bluntly, to which you nodded.
"I agree." Cameron stayed silent.
"Cameron?" Foreman said, prompting her to agree.
"I don't know, I mean it didn't have anything to do with us..." She trailed off.
"How do you know that?" You asked.
"I don't- like for sure-" Cameron stammered.
"It was about House relapsing." Chase said.
"Oh my god.." You said pinching the bridge of your nose. "And you told him? And he told Cuddy. He's fucking screwed."
"I wasn't planning on telling him..it just slipped out, but Cuddy needed to know so I agree with what he did."
"Of course you do! You're fucking him!" You exclaimed a little louder than you had planned. Cameron's face quickly went red, whether from anger or embarrassment.
"You act like you haven't slept with House, come on we all know." Cameron stated. Now it was your turn for your face to go red.
"What?!" You said, stunned.
"You slept with House?" Chase asked quietly.
"What-? No. No I obviously did not. Why do you even think that?" You said quickly. Foreman was stunned, Chase was deeply curious how it would've worked, and Cameron was wrong. She sighed deeply.
"If you aren't sleeping with him then what is going on..?"
"Nothing obviously." You said, Chase looked at you incredulously.
"Look it-doesn't matter. I'm sorry I said anything. Let's just...get back to working on the case." Cameron stated.
"Yeah, I'm sorry too." You nodded. Though you weren't really, you hadn't said anything that wasn't true, maybe you were a little sorry for raising your voice, but other than that you had only said the truth, and you had been paid back in full with the accusation that you and House were having sex. The four of you paced back to House's office in complete, slightly awkward, silence.
"Oh good you found him. Though I'm sure you could've found Atlantis in the time it took." House said, looking at his team, slightly annoyed. Everyone clearly had other things on their mind, and didn't really feel like humoring House right now. After a moment of thick silence, Chase looked up, "Cuddy wants to talk to you." He uttered to House.
"About what?"
"I don't know." He said attempting to seem nonchalant.
"Lying through your perfectly white teeth huh? Foreman, what's it about." House uttered, abruptly turning towards your colleague. He shrugged in reply.
"Cameron?" He asked, and she didn't reply. He turned to you.
"Y/N?" You sighed lightly. Should you tell him? Better to rip off the bandaid...right?
"It's about the Vicodin, House." You said looking down. He chuckled lightly at your response.
"That's what you guys didn't want to tell me? Really? You do realize that I know I'm taking drugs, correct? I'm usually the first to know." He moved to sit down. "Now that that is settled, case, important, now."
"You have to go talk to Cuddy." Foreman said.
"Yeah, yeah I know Mommy is gonna scold me. We have bigger patients to fry. As in our patient's brain is fried."
"House! Shut up for one minute and listen! None of us are doing anything until you go talk to Cuddy. Case closed." Cameron exclaims, shocking all of you but especially House. He looks at her blankly, almost like he's looking through her, clearly he's thinking about something again, and then grabs his coat and limps out of the room, cane in clutch.
"Wow, you actually got through to him." Chase uttered, looking over at Cameron.
"No I didn't."
"What do you mean?" Foreman said, sitting down. "He's going to talk to Cuddy."
"No he's not-Cuddy's office is the other way. He's going to talk to Wilson." You all scoffed, and Chase shook his head.
"We're idiots."
"And he's an ass." You added.
