I park in front of the Grill in case I need to get out of there quickly and leave, I don't want anyone to see me yet. I sit in the car, not wanting to go to this stupid ball. I just have a bad feeling being here and everything about this.

I finally get out of the car and walk over to the mansion. I see people making their way over to the entrance, thankfully I don't know any of them. Once I get to the door, two gentlemen open the door from inside. People immediately look at me, so much for not being noticed. I take a couple of steps in before I'm greeted by one of my brothers. Klaus.

"Hello, Rora." Klaus smiles while leaning in to kiss my cheek.

"Hello Nik, I want to thank you for letting me know that you were alive. I appreciated it." I smiled in the beginning but dropped in a second. Klaus chuckles at my comment before he can answer me, someone has joined us. I hold eye contact with Klaus not wanting to look at the person next to me.

"Aurora..."

"Elijah..."

"Aurora, I apologize-" Elijah took a step closer to me, but was cut off by a familiar voice.

"Rory!" I turn around to see Damon walking over to me with a bright smile. "How have you been? How was New York?"

"Hey Damon, I'm good, New York is good. How about you Damon? How are you?" I smiled very grateful that he stepped in when he did.

"I'm good. Do you guys mind if we grab a drink?" Damon had turned to Klaus and Elijah, who shook their heads. Once we get to the bar, we both order bourbon, and turn to each other.

"Thank you. I owe you for that."

"No problem. I could tell that you want an escape. What's going on between you and Elijah?" the bartender gives us our drinks and walks away to serve the other people.

"I'm mad at him. He thinks whatever happened between me and Esther can be fixed and that I need to get over it, but he does know what happened. He just assumed that it was something that I could give Esther for doing." I sigh taking a sip of my drink.

" Can you forgive Esther?" Damon asked while looking around the room. I replied with a simple no. He got the hint that I didn't want to talk about it anymore and changed the subject.

"Have you seen Stefan yet?" He turns his head a little, and our eyes connect. It's already bad enough that I'm seen with him. I don't know whether I should lie to him or tell him the truth. If I tell him the truth he would make me go talk to him, but if I lie he would only know once he talks to Stefan.

" Yeah, we talked so a little until I was pulled away by my brothers. I'll find him later." I scan around the room while taking another sip of my drink. My eyes land on Rebekah who was with a blond man. I smiled and told myself that I would talk to her later. I finished my glass and turned to Damon.

"So anything new? Am I missing anything fun?" I smile and tilt my head. Damon shakes his head. In the corner of my eye, I see Klaus walking towards us.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I need Rora for a couple of minutes." Damon looks a me before speaking.

"I'll see you later..." With that, he walks away leaving me and Klaus.

"C'mon. It's time to welcome everyone." Klaus extends his arm out to show me the way.

"You don't need me to do that." I snapped back.

"Rora, please. You are a Mikaelson. If you don't go up there then I won't." He stood his ground making it clear that he wouldn't go if I didn't. We look at each other for a few seconds, not one of us moving. I grow tired of this and walk towards the staircase.

All I wanted was not to be seen and just watch the ball unfold. The whole plan of not being seen by Stefan and Esther was out the window. I've had a bad feeling the whole night and it's only getting worse. I should have never come here, I should be back in New York sitting on my couch.

My siblings were already standing on the staircase waiting for Klaus and me. Klaus goes up the staircases to stand behind Eljiha and in front of Kol. I stood at the bottom next to Fin since Esther will most likely stand at the top next to Kol. Rebekah who was standing between Elijah and Fin, widens her smile when she sees me, I give her a small one back.

"Welcome! Thank you for joining us" Eljiha starts talking before looking up at the top of the stairs where Esther is walking down to stand next to Kol. I take a deep breath, smile, and look out at the crowd. My eyes immediately connect with green ones, I take a breath in.

"You know whenever my mother brings our family together like this, it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance. Tonight's pick is a centuries-old waltz, so if all of you could please find yourselves a partner, please join us in the ballroom." With that being said Eljiha walks down the stairs and into the ballroom. Everyone starts to talk and walk in the same direction. I quickly go down the two steps and walk to a less populated area.

I look around and see Klaus asking Caroline for her hand, Damon and Elena are heading towards the ballroom. I look for Rebekah and see her with the blond boy. I was gonna sneakily slide out of the room to go see why Esther decided to have this stupid evening, and why I had to be threatening to attend. Unfortunately, everything in the universe doesn't want anything go to the way I plan cause I feel a hand grab my elbow gently while pushing me to them.

" Dance with me, sister." I smile and turn around. Fin had his hair slick back and tux net and tight.

"I'm not in the mood, Fin. I'm just gonna grab a drink and-"

"Please Aurora, it would be like old times. Remember? We used to dance when Mom and Dad were asleep. I wish we could go back to the good old days before all of this happened. Can I please dance with my sister, like we were when we were younger?" I sigh and slide my hand into his.

We walk into the ballroom and see everyone getting ready to dance. Fin and I take the last available spot, I look up and down the room and see Stefan and Carol Lockwood start dancing. I focus back on Fin.

"How you been brother?" I spoke softly. Fin and I have always had a special relationship, I guess it is because we are the three oldest. Fin, Freya, and I were the trio of the siblings, always doing things together and having each other's back.

" I'm good, mother and I have been traveling a bit and were thinking of settling down." I nod my head, even though my insides are twisting in so many places.

"That's great. Hopefully, we can see more of each other. " I smile.

"Me too, I'll see you later" I nodded my head and kissed him on the cheek before I was sent to the next person.

" Well, this is weird... Never did I think I'd be dancing with the Aurora Mikaelson..." The person smirked and I let out a small chuckle.

"That's because you'd never be able to get me on the dance floor," I smirked back at him. He smiles.

" See this is why we are friends, we have the same humor." I laugh

" I can't with you Damon. You're something else." I smile

"So I talked to my brother, your talk went so well that he doesn't even remember." I chuckle and roll my eyes. "You should talk to him. He's been trying to contact you since you left. God listen to me, I sound like a therapist. All I'm saying is, that he has been quiet and it's starting to be annoying cause then I have no one to argue with." I don't say anything and just continue dancing. Before we switch again, I look at Damon, "I'm doing this for him, and I'll let him know."

Damon spun me and soon into someone's familiar arms. I look up and my eyes connect with dark green ones. Immediately everything around us was gone and all my worries disappeared. It was just me and him. The man that I've been avoiding all night is standing in front of me.

"Stefan..." At this point, we had stopped dancing even though everyone around continued. As if Stefan was in his world was brought back to reality and quickly pulled me to him. We started dancing again, our faces close to one another.

"Ro...." he whispers. I could hear the relief in his voice.
