Nefeli straightened out the documents on her desk and tapped her fingers on the keyboard.

"A few more minutes left for the meeting to begin", she thought to herself. "First meeting with the consultant on a Monday morning. Hopefully it goes well."

The minute the clock struck 2 PM, Nefeli logged onto the meeting and waited with baited breath for the other party to join.

After a few moments, a dark haired man joined the call. He wore a wine red jumper over a white shirt with the collar popped out. Black rimmed glasses framed his eyes and his dark hair fell in a mop over a broad forehead. He had a slightly angular face and sharp features.

Nefeli felt a slight jolt as his liquid brown eyes focused on the camera.

"Hello, I'm Nefeli", said Nefeli with a bright smile. "You must be Christoph, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

"Hello", said Christoph with a small smile. "Yes, likewise. So you must have been informed of the purpose of this meeting. I received some of the information that we had requested and I had some questions about it. I'm going to open up the files here."

"Yes of course", said Nefeli, feeling slightly put out by his frosty reception.

"It's a business meeting, we're not here to be friends", thought Nefeli to herself as she waited for the questions.

"Yes, now I see on this line item here, the number you have mentioned doesn't agree with the information we have. Nor do the numbers agree on lines 37, 84, 89 and 105."

Nefeli gazed at the screen in confusion and stammered out "Let me check on that for you."

She pulled open the documents Grayson had sent her and stared at them in confusion.

There were the numbers written in black and white with no other explanation. She opened various other files on her computer, desperate to see if there was any other information.

"And while you're at it, why do you have amounts in line 114 to 136?", snapped Christoph. "That doesn't make any sense. And also......"

The questions came flying to her with increased frequency as Nefeli frantically searched documents on the company drive to answer them.

Despite the air conditioning in her apartment, Nefeli could feel perspiration pool on her back and her face as she struggled to make head or tail of the questions that came her way.

"I'm sorry", stammered out Nefeli at the end of two hours. "I'll need to check on these items."

"Don't you know the answers to them?", asked Christoph, a scowl clouding his face.

"Well, I have been here only a few months", said Nefeli, in a slightly defensive tone. "A lot of this information was entered before I joined the company and the person who was overseeing this has already left."

"Didn't they tell you about this before they left?", asked Christoph.

"Evidently not", said Nefeli, her temper starting to get the better of her.

Christoph placed his hand on his forehead and rested it there for a few moments. Nefeli gazed at the computer, unsure what to do or say.

"Alright", said Christoph, finally emerging. "I'll wait for you to get back to me. Goodbye."

"Ok", said Nefeli in a nervous voice but her reply went unheard.

The meeting had already ended.

Nefeli stared at herself on screen, unsure what to do next. The past few hours had seemed worse than non-anesthetic surgery.
