-Vi's POV-

We're sitting in a diner eating breakfast, I ordered some pancakes and (y/n) ordered French toast. He takes a big bite out of a piece, I finish my pancakes and take a sip of my coffee to wash it down.

"So, where are we going after this?"

He swallows before answering,
"I'll guide you to the store and then the bar, really the two places you need to know about for now."

"I'm up for a drink most of the time, but why show me the bar?"

"In case you need to find me."

"Gotcha."

After a few minutes the waitress comes by with the receipt, (y/n) grabs some cash out of his wallet and places it on the tray.

"Oh, I can cover my half."
I offer,

He waves his hand dismissively,
"Nah you're fine, consider it my treat."

I nod,
"Thanks."

"Of course."

We walk out to the car and get in,
"Phew, that was good."

He nods,
"Like I said, we've got great restaurants here."

He directs me to the local grocery store, where several stalls are outside selling what appears to be fresh fruit.
"Ooh, that looks good."

"Let's get some then."

I pull into the lot and park, we walk over to the stalls. An older lady greets us,
"Hey there, how are you two doing today?"

"I'm doing fine, how about you?"

She chuckles,
"I can't complain, business has been good."

I feel myself smiling, people here seem much happier.
"What kind of fruit do you have?"

"Oh, plenty, strawberries, apples, grapes, peaches, just to name a few."

I ponder for a moment, I've really been craving something sweet.
"I'll have a couple bunches of strawberries and grapes."

She nods and grabs two bags, placing two bunches in each, before placing them on the stand,
"That'll be $8.74."

I grab my wallet, peering inside I realize I have quite a few $50's and a couple $100's.
"Damn."

I look over at (y/n),
"Can you break a $50?"

He grabs his wallet, then pulls out a $10 and hands it to the lady.

"That's... not what I asked."

He turns to me and smiles, before motioning to the bags. I look over and grab them,
"Thank you ma'am."

She nods and replies,
"You're welcome, you two have a wonderful day."

As we're walking to the car, I ask,
"Why are you paying for everything?"

He smirks,
"Why not?"
