The following Wednesday morning was breezy and students had two more days of school before their Summer vacations. Everyone was excited for a good rest and all they could talk about was their plans of going to the Quidditch World Cup in August. Amelia heard some older students making plans of going together as a group, so she started to make her own plans for her friend group since her father would most likely give her permission but only if he or another adult would be there and her little sister had to go as well. He liked keeping an eye on her and she adored her little sister, Persia who was a first year so she had no problem with that.
Amelia had a few people in mind whose parents would let them go by themselves if the group was big enough. The only problem she had in mind was Nury. She could only go out if her mother was there, their friends teased her about it even if Cynara was actually cool around the kids. But for Nury, it felt as if she was being watched the whole time, she felt controlled and she definitely couldn't be her usual self since she had to act 'decent' when her mother was around. And Amelia knew that when Cynara was around, the real Nury was not present.
Amelia got a hold on Nury during breakfast after not finding her at their dormitory, she thought she must have woken earlier than usual, it's not like she had much sleep anyways. With a piece of parchment on her left hand and a pen on the other, Amelia sat down in a rush almost spilling Nury's coffee.
"We need around 48 Galleons or $350 dollars by mid August!... Each." Amelia's voice was urgent.
Nury almost choked on her food when she heard the amount, "48 Galle- WHAT FOR?!"
"You know why! We've been talking about this for weeks now. We have to go."
"Is not that I don't want to, it's just that I rather not go if I won't enjoy the full experience, plus I know no one will like the idea of adult supervision, and yes I mean my mum." Nury took a sip of her coffee, yanked her wand and put ice cubes on it.
"We really don't mind if your mom goes as long as you'll be there, and we actually need her! She is the only parent of our group that knows us AND can stand us. No parent will let their children go unless there's an adult included in the group, and guess what? None of our parents want to babysit us even if it's at the Quidditch World Cup, I mean my dad would but he's a man and parents are usually more comfortable if the chaperone is a woman. So now that I think about it, your mom is actually the solution to our problem, and you are the problem. I have everything planned out. Tomorrow is our last day of school, in case you didn't know the day after tomorrow is Friday and we go back to our homes, there we'll look for a job either in the magic world, the non-maj one or maybe both, it doesn't matter as long as you get 39 galleons by August 5th to purchase the Quidditch tickets, and the rest of the money will be for food and camping so we can stay there for a few days." She took a moment to breathe to recover after speaking so fast while her soulmate reflected on her plan. "So what do you think?"
"So... you want my mum to go with us?" Amelia nodded eagerly with her eyebrows raised. Nury sighed, and with an appreciative smile said "Well you do know that my favorite Quidditch player will be there and I can't miss it under any circumstance." She was glad that her friends didn't mind her mum going with them, on the contrary they wanted her there. She loved them even more then. She always thought her friends didn't like her mom being around and that always made Nury uncomfortable, but her perspective changed with this news. Amelia squeaked in excitement and holded Nury's hand giving them a little squeeze.
"Bulgaria needs our support!" Exclaimed Amelia sarcastically to keep convincing Nury, although she was already more than convinced.
"Well in that case we'll need more than just 48 Galleons, we have to buy some Bulgarian merch! And I NEED a jersey with the number 7 on the back. Oh wait, and two last names... Krum at the top, the number 7 in the middle, and Belldame at the bottom! Oh Merlin, I need a job ASAP. Amelia, why didn't you convince me sooner?" she joked. "I would tell my mum by owl but I think it is best if I do it in person, so I will wait until Friday. By the way, how many are there in the group?"
"Well besides the two of us and your mom, there's Donna, Derek, Andrew and his sister Ivette, Jonelle, Arabela, Laurel, Mario, oh and mine and Arabela's sister. Basically everyone from our group, so that's..." Amelia stopped for a moment and repeated the list of names in her head while counting with her fingers, "that's thirteen!? Wow that's just too many, never thought we were that many honestly."
"Fourteen." Nury corrected her, "I'm taking Kreacher with me, I don't know how long we'll be gone and I don't want to leave him alone."
"Of course, so is that all? 14 is the final count?" Amelia was comprehensive, she knew just how important Kreacher was for Nury. He's always been there for her during the hard times of her early years. She didn't know much because Nury wasn't comfortable talking about it, but she knew that one day Nury would open up to her, she just needed time.
"I guess so." Nury stood up from the table and sighed. "I can't believe today is our last class with Freddy, I really love his class."
"We'll see him again after summer, don't worry he won't forget about you. I promise." Amelia stood up and grabbed her books, walking towards their first class of the day, Curse Breaking.
"Right... about that, there's something I need to tell you." Nury walked around the table with her books in her arms and joined Amelia who was looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
"That sounds serious, please tell me it isn't."
"I wish I could, I know this is probably not the best way or moment to tell you this, but since we still got 17 minutes before class starts I will tell you everything that happened yesterday at Professor Pope's office." Nury had no idea how to deliver the news to her best friend. She never thought that the day she would tell her best friend who her father was would come, but it was time to come out clean. After all, she wasn't ashamed, and she had nothing to be ashamed of, except for not being honest since the beginning. She didn't want to be treated differently due to the things that people don't understand about her family. But she was certain that Amelia would have still treated her the same. There was no prejudice in her heart, that was one of the many things that Nury loved about her.
Nury was certain that Amelia would understand, and like always... She was right.
