Faizan
.
.Our reception ceremony was arranged at the Sheikh family estate itself, in the spacious yard, to be precise and the decorations were like usual, a little too exaggerated, but I wasn't complaining for my woman, deserved the best of everything.
I could hear the guests mingling, a soft buzz of excitement filling the air. The evening was set to celebrate our union and the atmosphere felt as grand as our love story.
Standing here in the living room, waiting for my woman to descend the stairs, just to celebrate with the world without any fear was overwhelming. Indeed, we travelled a long journey filled with challenges to be where we were.
The decorations included chandeliers hung like sparkling stars from the ceiling of the makeshift venue, adorned with cascades of white flowers, giving it an ethereal glow. The aisle leading to the stage was paved with a fancy carpets, lined with plush seating areas where guests could relax and enjoy the evening. The stage was set on a high platform, against a backdrop of thick greenery intertwined with delicate flowers, creating a romantic and sophisticated setting.
Amirah was dressed in a stunning deep blue dress with a high neckline and long cape sleeves. It features detailed beadwork and embellishments throughout the bodice and flowing skirt, creating a luxurious look with a grand, floor-length train. The matching tiara above the head scarf added an essence of royalty, looking like the queen of the evening.
I, stood by her side in my deep blue tuxedo, the jacket had pleated lapels and delicate blue floral embroidery on the right shoulder. A draped sash adds a traditional yet modern touch to the overall design, paired with matching slacks and a crisp white shirt underneath.
"You look like a queen tonight, my love", I whispered, which earned me warm smile.
"And you look every bit the king, Faizan..my king", she mumbled, I could only smile, feeling the similar emotions we shared. As we walked down the aisle, I could hear the whisperings and compliments of the guests about how perfect we looked together. As we reached the stage, we were greeted by a round of applause and cheering from family and friends.
The atmosphere was filled with celebration and happiness as we took our seats on the stage. The distant relatives began to approach with gifts and blessings, clicking pictures on their cells, despite the photographer standing in front of us.
Amirah's family approached with smiles as wide as ever.
"Amirah, darling, you look breathtaking. Let's capture this moment", Jumana exclaimed.
"Yes, of course", Amirah's mother waved everyone over."Come on, everyone, We need to capture this moment. Amirah, Faizan stand in the middle", she said excitedly, I couldn't help but to smile at her. But, Amirah had to rolled her eyes,
"Mom, you are embarrassing me", she spat but obliged, nonetheless.
"Shut up, brat", her mom snapped with a smiled as they gave a striking pose. Their relationship was really amusing."Make sure to get my good side", Yusuf said, as he jokingly adjusted his collar, earning an eye roll from his wife.
"You don't have a good side", she hissed, Yusuf was clearly offended as he glowered at Jumana.
"Yet, I am your husband", he smirked.
"Unfortunately", that seemed to shut his mouth as he sulked. I bit my lips not to bark out a laughter."Hey, move over, let me stand beside my princess", came an sulking demand from father-in-law.
"I ain't moving an inch, old man", mother-in-law glowered at him but smiled at the camera almost immediately.
"Huh! Look at yourself first", he rolled his eyes."Wallahi! I am going to bury myself, this is so embarrassing", Amirah scolded her family who puckered their lips like a kid. I couldn't help but to laugh at their playful banter.
