When I gaze to the sky I see stars

You are among them

One, two-

Many more around you.

It gives me yearning,

Chest twisting, vision blurring.

Why must I be so grounded?

To remain where you abandon.

My planet dances another rotation,

Around a star, of its very own,

I wonder if you gaze upon

The distance glimmer,

Remembering me

In my final moments

Clinging to my planet,

But wishing for the stars that are so far from me,

Laying claim to those I treasured,

dancing among them.
