Advait's POV
I recently took a break for a few days to attend my best friend's wedding, but now I'm realizing that the company may not be able to survive even a single day without my oversight—and honestly, it probably shouldn't.
Yesterday evening, after a long drive with Shivansh, his brother, and Purvi, we finally reached our destination. As soon as we arrived, I received some alarming news from Vikram, my secretary. He informed me that a significant sum of money has gone missing from our stock accounts since the day I left, and he believes that our accountant is responsible for the discrepancies. I've been suspicious of him for a while now; there have been little signs that I chose to overlook because he had a seemingly solid track record. But now, with this missing money, my doubts have intensified.
Feeling a sense of urgency, I've decided to take the earliest morning flight back to Delhi so that I can address this issue personally. I must handle this myself, as it involves both the integrity of the company and my reputation. The problem is that no one is aware of my sudden change in plans—especially Shivansh. If he finds out what I'm doing, I know he will refuse to let me leave this room, so it's better to keep it to myself for now. Time is of the essence, and I need to act quickly before this situation escalates further.
💌
As soon as I reached the car parked in front of the airport terminal, I noticed Vikram standing there. He shivered slightly—something any ordinary person might overlook, but I was not ordinary. "Sir, we tracked down his location and sent a few of our men there," he said. This efficiency is why Vikram has been my secretary for the past five years; he knows exactly what to do and when to do it. It's worth noting that I don't often give praise. We made our way to the place where that bastard had gone into hiding: an under-construction building on the outskirts of the city, which he owned. A dangerous smirk curved my lips, though it was not quite a full smile.
When we reached my men were already gatekeeping the place. I made my way straight to the stairs searched every floor and found him on the twelfth one. And that is when I lost every ounce of patience I've had at that time and slammed my fist straight onto his face and gained a loud painful groan in return. He deserved more than that, motherfucker.
He was half dead with just a punch but I didn't stop and the smell of sweat and blood spattered the air.
When I found him insensate but alive I left him. He didn't even fight back and I don't like a fight without tough competition so I didn't waste my time and energy on a piece of shit.
"Saale, Suar ki aulaad, btaa krr nhi jaa skta tha? "
(Bastard, son of a pig, can't you inform me before leaving?)
Shivansh greeted me this morning with an incredibly warm and cheerful wish, setting a lovely tone for the peaceful and pleasant day ahead. However, I couldn't help but feel that his voice seemed unusually loud. It might be a good idea for me to visit my doctor to have my ears checked. Of course, it could just be that I was caught off guard by the sweetness of his voice, which has a honey-like quality that can be overwhelming at times. Just to clarify, I'm being a bit sarcastic here!
"Hnn bhyii bhul gyaa tha, emergency thi," I replied.
( It's fine, I just forgot it was an emergency.)" Bhul aur tu gyaa tha, Chutiya na kisi aur ko banaiyo." He knew me a little too much.
( You and forgot, try to fool someone else.)"Achha theek hai na aa jaunga kal tak kyu Chilla raha hai." I said my voice chill with no hint of sorry.
( It's alright. I'll come by tomorrow why are you yelling.)"Saale haldi hai meri kal, aur mujhe bhi pata hai tu kal raat se pehle nahi aane wala." He said his voice calmer than before.
( Bastard, it's my haldi tomorrow. And I know you very well that you won't come before night.)"Toh mai bada waha nachunga saari aurto ke saamne. Mera toh vaise bhi koi kaam nhi hai." I tried to joke. Keyword: tried.
(It's not like that I will dance in front of ladies. I don't even have any work there.)"Toh phir tujhe kisi bhi function mei aane ki zarurat nhi hai, Shaadi toh meri he hai tera koi kaam he nhi hai." He taunted back. He isn't wrong although.
( Then you don't need to attend any function. It's my wedding you don't even have any work here.)"Vaise yeh naachne wala idea bura nhi tha." He laughed.
(But the dance idea wasn't bad.)After that, he issued a stern warning, urging me to arrive as quickly as possible before abruptly hanging up the call. His tone conveyed a sense of urgency that left me feeling uneasy. Once the call ended, I turned my attention to the troubling task at hand. I meticulously sifted through each transaction, scrutinizing every single penny that had been deducted from my account. It felt more like I was uncovering a theft rather than simply reviewing my finances. As I delved deeper into the statements, the reality of what had happened began to sink in, adding to my mounting frustration.
