First day of at a new school~
"Tōru, please come down hajime and his mom are outside waiting for us."
"Coming mama", the voice of the little boy sounded back as he bounded down the stairs, coming too a stop before his mother in order to put on his shoes and then he ran outside too see his best friend engulfing him in a hug.
"Oi trashykawa, calm down what are you 3?" "MEAN IWA-CHAN I'm 8 just like you." "You don't act like it though." Iwaizumi said befor returning the hug and giving Oikawa a few pats on the back.
"As wholesome as that was we've got to get going boys, you don't want to be late in your first day in the new school do you?" The voice of Iwaizumis mother sounded from behind them.
Oikawa let go of his grasp on his best friend before skipping ahead.
The way to the school was quite both boys to invested in there own thoughts to talk. Thinking about what there teachers would be like or if they would have long lunch breaks.
Once the walk to the school was over the two boys just stood there in awe gazing at the school building towering over them.
"OIKAWA HIIIII" A voice came from behind. "HIIIIII TAKAHASHI" Oikawa screamed perfectly matching the bubbly energy of the former.
Takahashi then turned his gaze to Iwaizumi who stood behind Oikawa, "hi Iwaizumi nice to see you" he said shyly reaching out his hand which Iwaizumi accepted and shook.
"Ok boys go ahead into the school building now, Oikawa, Iwaizumi Oikawas mom will pick you up after school and take you back two home." "Ok mom" Iwaizumi said embracing his mother one last time before the three boys headed into the building.
They soon found there classroom which was located on the second floor, it was decorated with posters of the world map and other motivational phrases.
"Can I have your attention please?" (Will the real slim shady please stand up... I'm so sorry my humor is so dry and broken and dark most of the time💀😭) there teacher called from infront of the class.
The Noise dyed down as they all turned to face the teacher. "Thank you, I'm gonna be you're teacher for you're first 2 years at this school so I hope we can all get along. Before getting to no each other I would like to arrange the seating plan." ( let me just mention that basically there are just rows of desks and it's two students per desk and then there like a space between and then comes another desk... idk does that make sense?)
The teacher soon started to draw names out of a little bowl at the front of the class and much to the delight of both Iwaizumi and Oikawa the two were seated next to each other.
Takahashi was given a seat a row or two a head next to a boy name Kageyama Tobio. Who was a year younger then most of the others in that class and stood out quite a bit with his ash black hair and piercing blue eyes, his cheerful smile seemed too outshine even the sun.
As the school day progressed the class started to get too know each other, Oikawa found that he had a lot more in common with tobio then he had originally thought. While tobio did not share the same interest for academics that Tōru did, both were perfectionists even from a young age, that and both adored the prospect of playing volleyball.
In a conversation that Tōru had had with tobio a few weeks into there first year, he had found out that tobio had in fact been to volleyball once and since then had wanted nothing more then to play the sport himself.
Tobio also told him that that dream was now becoming a reality for him seeing as he had joined a volleyball club only a ten minute walk from where Tōru lived.
Apon hearing that Tōru had immediately told his mother about it, who in turn agreed to let him play there.
A few days later Oikawa was standing outside of the gym next to Kageyama, ready to have his first volleyball practice and to say he fell in love with the sport was an understatement. He enjoyed all the aspects, the receiving, the spiking, the serving and most of all the setting.
Oikawa greatly admired the position of the setter more then any other position and that was another thing he shared with tobio, the love for setting.
Oikawa also enjoyed playing alongside Kageyama, finding the younger quite amusing to play with. Sadly that wouldn't last long.
As it turned out Oikawa had to move up a team seeing as he was too old to play alongside the other kids on that team.
It broke tōrus heart to not play alongside his newly found friend anymore, up after a bit of convincing from his mother he had agreed that he might have a good time in the new team even if Kageyama wasn't there.
Tōru had desperately tried too convince Iwaizumi join him playing volleyball, but the former refused saying that he had swimming practice on those days and wouldn't be able to join. (Spoiler alert for anyone concerned he does join eventually don't worry)
And although that disappointed Tōru he still put on his best smile, pretending like he didn't care and would be fine joining the team all alone.

In school Oikawa continued to thrive, amd once his grades started coming in he was nothing but pleased with himself. His friendship with Takahashi was still thriving, the two of them would often steel there mothers nail vanish painting each others nails or trying out there moms make up.
Hajimes and tōrus friendship also remained strong for the most part. The two would swap answers and help each other out immediately if there was a problem.
However hajime two had found some new friends, who didn't seem to like Tōru particularly saying he was too girly to be a boy.
Take there lunch break firm a few days ago as an example. Hajimes friends had called him over to come eat with him, however when he had come to the table dragging Oikawa behind him that had given him a distasteful look. Saying that Oikawa couldn't eat with them cause they didn't want to eat with a girl.
Tōru had expected hajime to defend him, tell them that Tōru was a boy and a great friend, however Iwaizumi had turned around to face Oikawa and said: "why don't you go eat with Takahashi kawa, I think he's still looking for someone to eat with."
Originally Tōru had wanted to tell his mom how mean Iwa-chan was being but when he had had said Iwaizumis name his Mother had immediately cut him off, saying that she had forgot to mention that Hajime had been asking if he could meet up today. And while Oikawa really did want to hod, a grudge against hajime, he simply found it impossible. So he agreed.
EYYY 1173 words may not seem like a lot but I feel like I just climbed Mount Everest ✨
