"Please, take a seat," Sungjin smiled at his co-worker as he pointed at the sofa.
"Thank you," she smiled.
"Would you like something to drink? Water? Soft drink? Or perhaps, coffee?" Sungjin politely asked.
"Um, just water is fine, Sunbaenim," she replied.
"Alright, then. Give me a minute, please..." Sungjin walked toward the kitchen. "Gureum? Gureum, where are you? Gu —? Oh, there you are."
Gureum looked at him from where he sat by the dining table.
"What are you doing here?" he asked as he took a water pitcher.
"Well... you had a guest. I was going to go to your room and stay there, but as you can see, I am trapped here," Gureum said.
Sungjin laughed softly, "You can come out with me, and you can go straight to my room. You don't have to greet my guest."
"Okay. Who are they, anyway?" Gureum blinked.
"Dahyun. She's my co-worker. She's new at the company that I work with, and the boss said to take her under my wing. I'm just going to teach her the basics of our job," said Sungjin.
"But..." Gureum frowned.
"What?" Sungjin looked at him as he returned the pitcher. "Jealous?"
"No, I mean... she's going to be here every day?"
"Oh, no! Just today. Then I can teach her the rest at the office. We just need the basics today so that she can review them over the weekend before she starts on Monday next week," explained Sungjin.
"Oh, okay — and why would I be jealous?!" scoffed Gureum.
Sungjin smirked, bending to place his lips next to his ear and whisper, "I thought you liked me?"
Gureum gulped at the deepness and huskiness of his voice. Sungjin grabbed the glasses of water and proceeded to leave the kitchen. Gureum grabbed the pitcher and followed right after him.
"You should bring the pitcher for refills, hyung. You're giving the impression that they can't have refills," mumbled Gureum as he placed the pitcher on a placemat before retreating to Sungjin's room.
But before that —
"Hello," Sungjin's co-worker, Dahyun, greeted.
Gureum paused and for a moment, Sungjin thought that he'd panic. But he smiled easily.
"Hello," Gureum greeted back.
Dahyun stood up, holding out a hand, "I'm Dahyun. Sungjin sunbaenim's junior."
Gureum shook her hand humbly, "Um... Gureum. Sungjin hyung's friend. Roommate, I guess."
Dahyun giggled, bowing, "Nice to meet you."
Gureum smiled, "I take it that you're in the same department as Sungjin hyung?"
"Oh, yes! I'm directly under him. I mean, if ever he gets promoted, demoted, or fired, I'll be the one taking his position then," Dahyun cheekily answered.
Sungjin scoffed, "Me? Fired? Please."
Gureum grinned, amused, "Marketing, huh? I think you'll ace that position, Dahyun-ssi. You're good at talking. I mean it in the nicest way."
"Oh, thank you!" Dahyun giggled. "Are you in the business industry too, Gureum-ssi?"
"Um... I went to college for it. But only for a year," Gureum answered. "I... dropped out."
