While Crepe and Wendy rested from Garret's attack, Ice regrouped with Lapis and Admiral. She hummed at his words as he explained. Lapis finally spoke.
"That's why Garret has those headphones... I knew it had to be connected to sensitive hearing, but I didn't think it was a problem for his species." Ice nodded as Admiral purred.
"It makes sense, though..."
"LilyWillows can't handle loud sounds. Even shouting is too much for them." He paused before rubbing his own ears, a soft hiss filling his head from Garret's guitar. "Nonetheless, this isn't the first time I've heard about a LilyWillow being targeted for creating an army. This is the first time I've heard of someone having some sort of success." Lapis paused.
"Then... what should we do?" Admiral pondered the question as the other two joined.
"Ow... that was loud-"
"Was it?"
"Hush-" Crepe looked out of it as Wendy shook her head. "I can't get the sound out of my head." Crepe finally went over and slammed his head against the wall, which caused Ice to grab his ears from the loud sound. They turned to him as he rejoined them.
"Try that. It works."
"I'm sorry-" Admiral chuckled at the shock that crossed Wendy's face. "That did not-" He shrugged as Admiral finally spoke.
"I think our best bet is to charge north. We've forced them to go back up. Now to join the rest." Lapis turned away as Wendy paused, seeing his reaction.
"But... shouldn't we check if they need help?"
"They haven't opened anything up for us. We've gotten nothing over the past week. We either charge or we'll be stuck down here with barely anything to do." Lapis stepped away from the little group, alerting the others. Admiral sighed. "Lapis, I know you don't want to see them after they left you to defend yourself and you got jumped. You do not have to land. My plan is that we charge north. Me and Wendy will land at the base while the rest of you will go find their base." She turned to Ice. "You do whatever you need to do to reconnect with Garret and find that group." He nodded as she hummed. "Lapis and Crepe, you two will go after the other siblings."
"Will it be necessary?" They all turned to him as Admiral smiled.
"Would you rather land with me?" Lapis looked at the ground.
"I... meant me and Crepe working together. I mean... he's better than me. I'll slow him down-" Crepe crossed his arms.
"How much rope do you have in your bag?" Lapis gave a questioning look before grabbing his bag, pulling out rope that can easily contain 5 people.
"Why?"
"Do not think I can take on the three siblings while their instruments are blaring. I just got hammered by Garret. I will get hammered again." Ice chuckled at that. "Besides. How will we be dragging them down from the mountain without your very useful rope?" Lapis was quiet as he studied the rope.
"I... guess?"
"Trust me Lapis. You won't slow me down. You will speed me up." Admiral nodded.
"That settles it. We'll charge north while they are unaware of it."
~
The charge was easy. Lapis looked annoyed upon seeing the Rangers heading towards the mountains.
"It looks so... lively..."
"Don't focus on that. Let's do this!" They nodded as Wendy landed the Staraptor and the boys raced towards the mountain. The girls entered as the Base Leaders, Aria and Star looked over the map.
"They gained numbers so quickly-" Wendy responded instantly.
"Sorry about that." They turned as the two went over. "I sent them back up with a fiery storm. I didn't realize you guys couldn't take the full brunt. Maybe you should've sent a voicemail down earlier to warn us." The group looked at each other before Joel spoke, hoping to look confident.
"What are you talking about? Why would they be south?"
"Because there was almost no one down there. So attacking the smaller numbers was a better move than attacking the base with greater numbers. Why do you think the Ranger Union splits up newly graduated rangers evenly amongst the bases over here?" The two Top Rangers giggled at their Base Leader's faces. Elita stayed quiet Cameron frowned.
"So... why are you here?"
"We're here to find out who was the stupid one that left a singular Ranger to defend the entire area of Fall City, Ringtown and Summerland. One base is one thing. But three?" Sage gulped.
"I might've been the one who suggested Lapis, but it was Joel who made the plan."
"Cameron suggested it first!"
"Do you want to end up in a body bag?"
"I'm only telling the truth. I made no plans!" Wendy raised an eyebrow.
"Cameron, Joel is the least of your worries. Admiral here is a Travel Operator who has dealt with Parchment." Elita huffed as the boys panicked.
"WHAT!?"
"I've dealt with one of you. I'll deal with more." Her knife entered her hand. "Now, whoever isn't honest when I ask this is about to learn what happens during an autopsy." And with that final word, the blade flicked out. The trio girls merely giggled at the boys' panic.
"I should be recording."
"Yes we should..." Elita then sighed.
"I'll get to the point for you ladies. The whole stupidity plan was going to be since their base was north, we were going to gather an army of rangers up here and leave a small group in the south. However... that small group ended up being one person because the other group members didn't want to stay with Lapis being the temporary base leader. If you want, I can let you yell at those rangers instead." Admiral hummed as she put the blade away.
"That would be lovely, Elita." The Summerland Base Leader nodded as she went over to the Operator to call for the rangers. Star then gulped.
"Is... Lapis alright?"
"He is now. And since we forced the rest of their forces north, I brought the rest of the fight to the north." The boys looked puzzled as she continued. "Lapis, Crepe and Ice should be charging at their base and going after the Go Rock Quad. It shouldn't be too long before they get those two missions done."
"Two?" Wendy smiled as Elita rejoined them.
"While we wait for the rangers to get here for their... yelling, why don't we update you? You've been no contact for a while, so it's time to get information through."
~
Lapis led the duo to the base.
"Here it is." Ice nodded.
"Got it... I'll get Garret, you two get the others." They nodded as they entered.
