Dying is easy but living is harder.

Ace woke up to the sun shining from the window.
As he groaned he opened his eyes and looked at his hands

'Awake, I opened my eyes to see...a {hospital} med bay, so white and clean..'

Ace rubbed his eyes and saw Deuce sleeping on a chair by Ace's side.

'I was walking up to the {roof} deck, I think..'

Ace groaned as he looked at the sea outside.

'Then can't recall at all a single thing'

Ace sighed as he got off the bed and walked towards Deuce with a blanket.

'Held a hand for me, you were there...I know, but couldn't reach '

Ace looks at Deuce as he puts the blanket on him before walking slowly with a limp outside to see all the spades sleeping at the med bay door. Ace had escaped their worry but he knew that wasn't the last of them...

Ace was walking to his room. He went to his bed and sighed.

'The me that would fall down all the time'

Ace closed his eyes to try and sleep but in his dreams, he saw himself staring at him.

{But stand and reach my hand to see}

"Have you tried crossing over yet?"

The other him said with a blooded smile before charging at him ace tried to dodge. 

"Ah wanna die, wanna die"

The other he said as he ran towards Ace and attacked him with the same flames ace felt warmth in. Ace woke up sweating as he stared at the ceiling.

'But don't really wanna die'

Ace his heart was beating so fast as he tried to shake the thought out of his head.

Ace could hear yelling as his vision turned blurry he could only see that man with a moustache looking at him. He was exhausted.

'You were there, you would care...making me aware '

He only could hear Deuce yelling at him to come back...

Ace his body shook as he felt blood falling onto the sand.

"Fuck off old man!"

Ace yelled as he tried to stare at the man with the mustache.
He could hear him laugh and it pissed him off.

'Not enough, not enough'

Ace felt a wave of haki...

'how unfair...'

Ace then fell onto the blooded sand.

'Ah wanna die, wanna die...but don't really wanna die'

Ace stared at his crew as his vision got worse and hazy. His eyes were on Deuce whose eyes were shaking..

'If I died, you would cry...and I don't know why'

He saw the fire disappearing...
He watched as Deuce ran towards him...
Ace couldn't keep his eyes open and passed out...

Ace woke up in the Moby Dick's med bay.
He saw the bandages and remembered what happened before he passed out.

'Every scar, all the blood...More and more, they're never done '

Ace his body shook in fear.

"Not enough, not enough"

He wasn't strong enough. He got his crew in danger. The negative thoughts filled his head.
It took a few moments for him to calm down before he went to find his crew. Little did he know he would find comfort in the crew that kidnapped him.

Ace was in a cell at Marinford. Chained as if he were some sort of animal.

{When I forget you...I'm all alone without a place to go}

Ace remembered the good times in his childhood to try and shake the fear out inside him.

'But then played a mirror like a show...The past I used to know'

Moments later he was pulled to the execution stage.

'A dream, 'til I see every part of me...Eyes of red following and I wanna live, wanna live'

Ace stared at the ground cold and hurt but deep down a child was begging to be saved.

'Deep inside I've always been...Reaching out for a hand, so don't let this be the end'

Ace saw his family...their allies...their friends... all of them were here to save him. 
Ace cried when Oars fell...

{Mushrooms growing on my head...Still remember even then}

His eyes shook when he saw Luffy fall from the sky...

Ace shifted uncomfortably he heard the chains move with him.

'no stop it! luffy! stop it you still have an adventure!'

Ace wanted to yell at him but was at loss for words.

{You were there, you would care...You know it really isn't fair}
{Every time I forgot..You remain inside my thoughts}

Ace his eyes shook when he saw Luffy running towards him.

{Not enough, not enough}

'luffy run away. please don't die for me'

Ace wanted to scream at them but couldn't.
Though Luffy had freed him it still didn't feel like he was freed.

They were running away.
But in the blink of a moment, Ace felt something in his chest.

{Wanna die, but I still couldn't die...With you by my side}

Ace his eyes shook when he saw Luffy on the floor as he stood above Luffy. 
Ace followed his instinct to protect his brother no matter what...

{Behind the days I spent alone, afraid...Now you're here to stay}

Ace stared at the shaking eyes of Marco who was trying to get the sea stone off.

{And the scars never fade}

Ace smiled as he knew in whose arms he was. Portags D Ace always knew he would die. He knew he had a death sentence on his head...

{Memories that replay}

Ace smiled as he whispered his last words...

{Rewind yet again to the pain we felt on that day}

"Thank you everyone for loving me..."

Ace his body then fell to the ground. He knew someone would save and help luffy...
Even if he couldn't save Sabo... Someone there will save Luffy...
Ace closed his eyes knowing he died happily...
