I hate middle school, Jack thought as he headed out of his math class. He wasn't a popular kid or an average kid. He was the school freak. He doesn't even know why. One day in 3rd grade, a kid called him a "freak" and it just stuck. "Sorry I'm late teach" Jack said as he ran to his seat. His English teacher, Mrs. Sanford looked pissed. "You've been late all week Jack, your math class is close bye, What are you doing!" she screamed. The rest of the class laughed as Jack apologized hiding in his seat. He hated Mrs. Sanford. It's like she hated him or something. After class ended, Jack ran out of class and into the parking lot. He then saw the the familiar blue Toyota and hopped into the passenger seat. "How was school?" His older brother Brandon asked. Brandon was a sophomore and he was the total opposite of Jack. Brandon was popular, captain of the soccer team, and was a straight A student. He even had a girlfriend named Sana.  Jack on the other hand was the local freak, a geek, and was barely passing his classes. His parents know that Brandon is better than him, and treat him like it too.

When Jack got home he rushed to his room and shut the door. He then pulled out his phone and played his, I hate life playlist on Spotify. He then grabbed his sketchbook and started drawing. Everyone made fun of him but he didn't care. He wanted to be an artist when he grew up. Before he knew it, four hours passed and his mom was calling him for dinner. "Hey mom" he said sitting down at the dinner table. Brandon was already seated at the and his dad, well he  was probably in Bali with his new girlfriend who is like 20 years younger than him. Jack's parents divorced when he was 8. Now he was 13, and he hadn't seen his father in years. Apart from the occasional postcard and FaceTime, his dad probably forgot about him, Brandon, and their mom.
